These are his only needs and they will be gratified with all the powers that he now possesses. [/style] [STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]DOCUMENTED HISTORY[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8] The Helm of Chaos was created by the Lords of Chaos in response to the creation of the Helm of Fate at the hands of the Lords of Order, however unlike Nabu the spirit that inhabited the Helm of Chaos was unable to find a suitable host and subsequently entered hibernation. Hidden from humanity for centuries the Helm of Chaos simply waited for a chance to wreak havoc upon the Earth, so when a team of archeologists discovered the tomb that it had secreted itself within the Helm took the opportunity to find a host rather then slaying the humans that disturbed it. Finding its way to a museum in Smallville, the Helm finally located a sufficient host, a common thief who had purposed to steal it and the other antiquities. Taking possession of the man's flesh, Doctor Chaos was born into the world of men and ready to seize his rightful place as bane of all existence. However his spree of chaos was cut short by interference from Smallville's alien protector, Superboy, the boy incapacitated the Helm's host and in his bid to protect the Earth, flung the wretched artifact into space. Without a host or a means to return to Earth, the Helm of Chaos simply existed in the cold vacuum biding its time, waiting for something sentient to venture nearby. Decades passed before the chance presented itself, a rogue Green Lantern happened upon the the Helm and was subsequently brainwashed by the dark artifact. In the far reaches of space, the second Doctor Chaos was born, though the difference in the host's biology limited the Helm's power and was slowly killing the unfortunate being. Not wasting any time with chaotic exploits, Doctor Chaos compelled his host to travel to the Blue Planet, the distance was great and the body's time was short thus the only destruction the second Doctor Chaos wrought was upon himself. Despite the unfathomable distance to cover and agony the host experienced the Helm of Chaos was returned to Earth. Frederick Coleman was a second rate magician, earning a living entertaining people at children's parties and the odd casino appearance, needless to say he had dreams of grandeur. Performing basic trickery was hardly what he had in mind for his autumn years, so he purposed to learn true magic by any means necessary, though this task proved greater then he had desired. The only true magic ability he had managed to teach himself was that of diving, a rite which he was performing as the dying body of an alien came crashing through the stratosphere. As the alien corpse burnt under the atmospheric pressure the Helm of Chaos searched the planet below it for a suitable host, and like a dinner bell some fool performed an ancient rite of divination, though this was not a spell designed to peer into the future, it was an incantation intended to glean knowledge from the realm of Chaos. Frederick was about to abandon his pursuit of the mystical when a burning Helm crashed through the roof of his dilapidated cottage, when it did not collide with the floor, Frederick knew that it was of magic origin. Curious of the hovering helmet, Frederick approached it and heard its words, announcing itself as the Helm of Chaos it offered the magician a second chance at life if he were to become it's host, the Doctor of Chaos. Frederick needed no manipulation, without a second thought he accepted the offered and became the third Doctor Chaos. These include flight, invulnerability, super-strength, fire projection, lightning projection, spell-casting, telekinesis, magnetism, telepathy, the ability to convert matter (such as bullets) into energy and absorb it, wind manipulation, light projection, the ability to convert his internal energy into matter (such as fire and lightning), intangibility, energy absorption (such as lightning), immortality, invisibility, darkness manipulation, creating solid objects, and visions of people's fates. However, Frederick is unable to counteract spells that have already been cast and in effect. Without the Helm, Frederick loses all of his powers except for flight, super-strength, and invulnerability. KNOWN ABILITIES: Basic trickery: Having been a magician for a majority of his life, Frederick possesses the ability to fool an audience with sleight of hand and this transfers to his current vocation, he is able to trick those around him with subtle manipulations and often has them believing a truth that is not so correct. STRENGTH LEVEL: Superhuman levels of strength granted by the Helm of Chaos. WEAKNESSES: If Frederick loses the Helm, he is reduced to almost human power levels though he does retain a few of his powers. Though he can still be weakened and defeated as other heroes can, he is susceptible to his own craft if purposed against him. WEAPONS:Sabre of Chaos: A blade which Frederick used within his shows for dramatic effect, now that he is in possession of the Helm, the blade has been altered by dark magics and is able to enact the cruelest of violent acts and cleave through all but the hardest and magically altered surfaces.[/style] [STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]EXAMINATION RECORD[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]Hiding from sight, it was a common trick, one Frederick had been well versed in long before the Helm of Chaos had claimed his body as a conduit, though now the magician found that he was taking the parlour trick to another level entirely. Masking both the presence of his ghoulish colleague and his own within a complex veil, one that would prevent either party from being noticed by their enemies, namely the woman with the eyes and wings of a hawk. The harpy had noticed the others and as expected failed to see them, now they waited as eager as fishermen for the fools to take the bait and fall hook, line and sinker into their trap. Beside him sat Solomon Grundy, a hulking mass of rotten flesh that squirmed impatiently as it hungered for the coming conflict, Frederick guessed the beast was far more ravenous then he. As they waited Frederick reflected on the circumstances that had lead him to the feet of these great mountains, the Helm had its hand in it of course, compelling him to accept the generous offer extended by the Society as it would allow him to wreak havoc in some form on the world of men. Though the elderly magician doubted that it was solely the Helm's appetite for destruction that had brought them here, no, he too was hungry for revenge, vengeance against the crowds who had booed and hissed. Now was his turn to heckle, Frederick would make them pay for the embarrassment that he had suffered. Perhaps his thirst for violence rivalled Grundy's. Minutes had passed and they still awaited the heroes to make an appearance, they would be the beginning of his revenge, they were the men and women that the children had worshipped as they spat on his attempts to bring joy and wonder into their lives, they would pay. Frederick found himself squirming like the ghoul beside him did, despite their eagerness neither men spoke, they were to busy counting the moments until they were able to bring pain to the heroes who purposed to claim their prize. Impatience began to creep into Frederick's mind, though it was more likely to be one of his master's dark tendrils prodding him into action, sighing Doctor Chaos held his hand out to his front and muttered an incantation that allowed him to glimpse through the ether. Using his magic vision, Frederick located the nearest presence of significant life force and found the heroes and their drill, “Solomon, they're here. Six hundred metres northwest. Do we?” Still unsure as to whether they were supposed to engage their foe or wait for the heroes to attempt to use the stairwell that Jinx had summoned. Grunting, Solomon merely stood and began to lumber in the direction that Frederick had specified, now Doctor Chaos was torn between being intelligent or giving into his more primeval urges, he knew that they had to protect the mouth of the passageway but the presence of the drill meant the heroes were unlikely to utilise it as a means of descent. Cursing under his breath, Doctor Chaos followed his ghoulish companion keeping both of them invisible under the magic veil, though he doubted their presence would go unnoticed for to long, he had no idea what powers the heroes possessed. As they moved through the scrub they slowly became aware of the great drilling machine the League intended to utilise, Frederick snorted at it's vulgar simplicity, their method was far more graceful and a whole lot less destructive. It was almost as if the heroes were here on the Helm's command. Turning to face his necrotic partner in crime, Frederick smiled though this expression was hidden by the Helm he wore, “Are you ready?” The grunt he received in reply indicated that the ghoul was indeed ready to fight, as did the surprising speed with which he went lumbering towards the League's drill. With their cover blown by an eager Grundy, Doctor Chaos allowed the veil that had hidden them dissipate as he drew his sword and summoned a great swath of stone and fire to block the League's progress. Hopefully they would slow the heroes down enough so the other team of villains could continue their descent unmolested and perhaps even finish their task without any bother from the Justice League. Ascending from the earth, Doctor Chaos looked upon the vehicle and laughed, “How do intend to combat the hungry Earth with that toy?” Frederick had been a showman his whole life, he knew how to bait people and his quarry were no different, they would bite.
