“A little more red here and here…let’s add some green and really throw them for a loop!”[/color]
The young woman clad in red and black walked backwards, her blue eyes on the flamboyant, ‘X’ on the ground, it was really noticeable, especially with the green dots on the ends of ‘X’. Humming as she worked, she couldn’t help but take a look around the old house; the plan itself was simply genius. It just had to work; it would show her love how much she adored him. He’d be so impressed; she could make up for the few times she’d gotten things a little messed up.
The plan was so simple that’s where the ingenious came into play. The Batman would be lured into the house, by a babies cry, but here’s the best part, it wouldn’t be a dumb doll, it’d be real, sitting on that X, as it balled its little eyes out. Bats wouldn’t let anything happen to it, if he did he wouldn’t be the Great Gotham’s Savior. She wasn’t going to keep the baby, no that was just a little too over the top, for her anyway. She was going to return it to the stroller she found it in, in a couple of hours. How hard could it be to find it again, not that hard right?
Placing the little gurgling, drooling thing on the still wet covered spot. She went to her place higher up into the old home. She didn’t have to wait long for the Dark Knight to show up, but oh what she hadn’t thought to count on was the leak of gasoline oil over in the far corner, to have somehow magically ran a trail from one corner of the house to the other. As Bats reached down to pick the baby up, she’d fired her weapon, the masked crusader dodged the spark of the teaser easily enough, but the darn thing hit the gas and ignited.
“Oh darn…well looks like you’re on your own Bats!” Harley called down to him, as the old building was quickly being eaten up by the flames, one of the few exits the stairs was now cut off to him, and his original entry point was now a wall of raging flames. If there was anything she’d learned it was when to take her much needed exit.
Perhaps if she was lucky she’d wind up getting rid of the Batman, she could wish a little longer while, she ran from building, breaking one of the second story windows to make her escape. She gave a startled yelp as she was hauled roughly back inside the burning building by a large hand around her wrist. “I wouldn’t do that, if I were you Batman” she couldn’t help the sing-song words that spilled from her lips as she flashed a smile his way. She pulled the trigger on the pistol that was on her person, she didn’t give herself time to hesitate as she dispensed the trigger, the dart sliding from the chamber and releasing a string of laughing gas. The close proximity made the gas seep into her own lungs, but it did what she needed, it made the Dark Knight let go.
Her eyes landed on the baby curled close to the chest of the superhero and she felt a momentary tickling of guilt, before she turned her body taking the plunge. She hit the ground running, unable to help the fits of laughter that bubbled up as she made her oh so classy escape.
