ALIGNMENT: Good AFFILIATION(S):Formally: Power Girl’s sidekick, Now: None PHYSICAL PROFILE HEIGHT: 5’6 WEIGHT: 115 EYES: Purple HAIR: Black CLASSFICATION: Stratan (Alien) UNUSUAL FEATURES: Terra assumes a humanoid appearance, but is in fact not human BEHAVIOR PROFILE Atlee has always been the type of girl to want to get to know you. She’s very open and often says what she is thinking out loud without realizing it, until it’s too late. She does sometimes think out loud, it can be rather humorous to watch. Atlee is always looking for the good in people and she has an insatiable want to know why people do the things they do, the good, the bad and the ugly. She just wants to know, to try and understand. The Right Thing: Atlee has always been one to do the right thing. If she feels as though something is wrong, she’ll do the right thing always, if it’s given a lady back the dollar she dropped on the ground, or helping her to her car. Atlee has always been on for public service. Her sense of right and wrong is strong and while it may be easy to get her to believe something is right when it really is wrong, once she realizes how wrong it is, she’ll stop and do the right thing. Gullible: Atlee as Terra or even as herself has always had a good heart and it makes it easy for people to use her if given the right sob story. She wants to help people and fix their problems, she’s very sympathetic to others and it’s often easy for her to put herself in there shoes. Atlee is very willing to believe there is good in everyone and that everyone is just misled. In her culture they have managed to bleed away the evil of their society so it doesn’t exist where she is from. While Atlee believes what people say, this makes it hard for her to catch that you’re joking, if tell her a joke. She’s gotten better, but some things still go well over her head. Loyal: Atlee is very loyal to those she is close too. It’s very hard for her to not like someone, to not find something good about them, even the bad guys. If someone a friend asks her not to tell anyone she won’t, she is that loyal, that good of a secret keeper. This not telling can put her in some very hard situations with her friends. She may not like keeping some of the secrets that she does, but she will, as she feels it is the right thing to do, to be a good friend. Trusting: She’s always given off this ‘trust me’ vibe to just about everyone she meets. People find it very easy to spill things to her, to talk to her; a lot of people tell her things that they normally wouldn’t after only knowing her for a few hours. She is very approachable, while she may not fully understand everything that there is to know about Earth’s cultures, she does do her research and seems to know the right thing to say or the right advice to give to those willing to ask her opinion. Emotional: Atlee takes hits hard; failures are hard for her to take, as she always tries so hard to succeed. She’s kind hearted and gentle soul and losses, causalities’ hit her closer to home than it does most others. She understands her own emotions but doesn’t often like to talk about them, the negative ones she tries to hid, usually behind a smile, but you can tell by the look in her eyes that some thing is up. With a little pushing you can get her to tell you. DOCUMENTED HISTORY Strata: (Alien Race/Home) Strata is a subterranean world that exists thousands of miles below the Earth's surface. It is populated by a variety of races, which live in isolation of the surface world, but are very much aware of the effects that surface dwellers have on their planet. Strata evolved from the desiccated husk of a so-called "Astronaut God" whose corpse crash-landed on Earth eons ago, perpetuating the Ice Age. The Astronaut God's body was contained inside a special suit that protected it from the rigors of space travel, but also managed to preserve its DNA as well as a computer record of the last years of its life. The Astronaut God's blood flowed like lava, seeding the veins of the Earth, ultimately evolving into the Stratan people. The Stratans possess a rare metallic ore known as Quixium, whose transmutative properties enable them to genetically alter any one they choose. The Stratans select an individual to act as their champion in defense of the planet and use the Quixium to change their physical form as well as provide them with geomorphic powers. To date, there have been three such champions who have hailed from Strata, all of whom used the code-name Terra. The first was Tara Markov, who was also the sister of Markovian super-hero Geo-Force. When Tara Markov was killed during the "Judas Contract" affair, she was replaced by Tara Markov II, a woman whose physical body was altered to resemble that of the first Terra. This Tara Markov also suffered a brutal death at the hands of Black Adam during "World War III". The current champion of Strata is Atlee who, while physically different from her predecessors, still possesses the means to affect the Earth's geomorphic field. Shortly after Atlee adopted the mantle of Terra, opportunistic industrialist Richard Faulkner discovered Strata and sought to take advantage of its wonders for his own ends. Atlee (3rd Champion)/ Terra: A Stratan Atlee after taking the name Terra, she hit the streets of New York determined to help out those in need. In one of her first adventures, she teamed up with Supergirl to fight an evolved, talking dinosaur known as an Empathosaur from wreaking havoc near a trendy New York Nightclub. She disappeared soon after the threat was taken care of. Terra then popped up in Broomfield, Virginia where she helped a subterranean race known as the Illumi-Mites avoid being crushed by a collapsing tunnel. She then flew to the South Pacific where she encountered a more aggressive subterranean race, the Lavarians. While stopping the Lavarians from terrorizing a nearby village, Terra met the JSA member known as Power Girl. After the fight, Power Girl took Terra back to JSA Headquarters, where Doctor Mid-Nite ran a battery of tests on her. He determined that Terra was a genetic match of the original Tara Markov. Terra then traveled to Markovia to assist Geo-Force against a necromancer known as Deadcoil. Geo-Force was infected by Deadcoil's possessive powers, and Terra was forced to bring him to her homelands so he could recuperate. Terra and Geo-Force then teamed up to stop super-powered Richard Faulkner from destroying all of Strata. Shortly thereafter, Terra resumed her friendship with Power Girl who helped her to assimilate to life on the surface world. The two teamed up together to tackle Satana and her animal-men cronies and later, they embroiled themselves in a fight with Solomon Grundy. During the Final Crisis crossover, a group of teen supervillains calling themselves the Terror Titans begin abducting teenaged metahumans to use as competitors in the Dark Side Club, an underground arena where the young heroes are brainwashed and forced to fight to the death for spectators and wealthy patrons. After learning of the abductions, Terra goes on the run, eventually meeting up with fellow teen superheroes Aquagirl, Molecule, Offspring, Zachary Zatara, and the Star-Spangled Kid. While deciding on a course of action, the teens are ambushed by the Terror Titans, who proceed to overpower and capture them, killing Molecule in the process. Atlee and the others are taken to the Dark Side Club and subjected to the Anti-Life Equation, which causes them to become slaves to Darkseid and his cadre of followers. After winning several matches in the tournament, Terra is made a member of the Clock King's Martyr Militia, a team of brainwashed superhumans he plans to use on an attack in Los Angeles. Atlee and the others are ultimately freed from the Anti-Life Equation when Miss Martian, Rose Wilson, and Static lead a rebellion against the Terror Titans and capture the various members of the Dark Side Club. In the aftermath of the successful rebellion, Atlee accompanies her rescuers and fellow survivors to Titans Tower in San Francisco, hoping to take some time to recuperate. While resting, Atlee is offered a spot on the Teen Titans by Wonder Girl, which she politely declines, saying that she wishes to distance herself from the tragedy surrounding the membership of the previous two bearers of the Terra identity. Atlee played a pivotal role in saving New York when the Ultra-Humanite literally uprooted the entire island of Manhattan and held it suspended miles above the ground. While Power Girl severed the two cables anchoring the island to the Humanite's ship, Terra formed the earth below into a giant catcher's mitt, fielding the displaced city and re-rooting to its proper geological position with minimal casualties. Several Months later: It wasn’t long after that, that Atlee decided it was time to go out on her own to start becoming her own person, her own person, not wanting to be known as Power Girl’s sidekick forever. She branched out on her own, with a heartfelt goodbye to Karen. Atlee decided to travel the world, to really get a feel for what was out there, for what it was like, and to see how well she could integrate herself into our world with no ones help, this was her chance to grow and she took it. Now Three Years Later: Atlee has returned to America having matured and grown in her quest for a better understanding and has found that she has come to grow into her powers, finally feeling as though she is ready to do something greater, to be bigger than herself. Not many know of her return, and she has yet to tell Karen, but she’s hoping to surprise her, and those that knew her all those years ago. Atlee hadn’t taken up the name Terra after her departure from Power Girl, she’d simply allowed people to call her what they wanted, when she helped the small villages out in Africa and those in less industrialized areas of the Earth. Atlee feels that now she can properly take up the name Terra and can be better than the former Terras’ and yet can still honor them and make them and others proud of her. POWERS AND ABILITIES KNOWN POWERS: Geokinesis: Terra possesses the ability to manipulate the geography of her surrounding environment through force of will. Like others who have used the name, Terra can project and reshape existing rock formations and use them as projectile weapons if she so chooses. Atlee's powers are currently limitless, while she limits herself to "harmless" feats such as growing large formations of rock with the slowness needed to avoid a geological hazard, and using floating rocks as projectiles and to levitate around, Gerard Shugel, the Ultra-Humanite, while residing in her body, was able to shift nearby tectonic plates with ease or cause volcanoes to erupt at his will. He surmises that Atlee has always had this amazing amount of power, but willingly chose to limit herself in fear of the damage she could cause. KNOWN ABILITIES:
STRENGTH LEVEL: Superhuman? WEAKNESSES:
PARAPHERNALIA EQUIPMENT: None TRANSPORTATION: She uses her powers to travel from place to place if need be. Usually in the form of a large rock or smaller rocks to walk along, it depends on the distance traveled. WEAPONS: None |

Don’t scream…don’t…
Those martyr thoughts were cut off as a scream was ripped from her throat, past her cracked, dry lips. The taste of blood was in her mouth, she could feel it slide, a warm, wet trail up the corner of her mouth, past her cheek to rest in her eye, which made her eyes tear up. She could still hear it, her scream’s echoed travel through the caves, to her left and to her right, and upwards. Atlee couldn’t quite remember how or when things had gone so terrible wrong. It was dark, so much so that she couldn’t see her own hand in front of her face, not that she could move her hands; they were dangling below her, the heavy metal cuffs trying to pull her arms out of their sockets.
Hanging upside down by her feet, the same heavy chains that bound her wrists were on her feet, the metal was special it blocked her powers and it had been five days so far; at least that was her spotty guess, it could be less, it probably was. The days were blurring together, whoever this was; they wanted to break her, wanted information and she wasn’t talking. No one would have been looking for her, as far as anyone was concerned she was still in the other parts of the world.
What had made her scream was the thing that had fallen from the cave wall above her to the right side of her face, it had long legs and was light brown in color with dark brown spots, and it’s mouth, its little fangs she could hear it open it’s mouth near her ear. It had landed on her chin and had in turn stared moving down her face.
Oh by the gods! Get it off...please, please someone get it off!
“Please…please” the barely whispered words came as wide fearful, purple eyes locked on to the spot where she knew it was on her cheek. Atlee hadn’t been originally afraid of the earthly bugs, although after this encounter, no one could quite be sure how she’d react to another. A sticky furry leg made contact with the inner shell of her ear and she jerked, her head thrown back, as her body rocked with the drastic motion. Her body swayed back and forth from the pull of the heavy rope that held her to suspend above the ground. By the grace of the gods the spider fell from its perch, and she could finally get her breath back, the ability to breath. As she swung back and forth for a moment she swung her arms, moving her body like you would on the swings of kids’ playground.
”C’mon…c’mon”
The movements were choppy and slow, but the power built with each successful pull of the rope against the cave wall. She could hear the grunt and groaning of the rock as the added weight pulled and the rope rubbed against the metal hook that was there. Each swing rubbed the rope a little more and a little more before it snapped with a satisfying ripping noise, as the fabrics tore away.
A gasp left her lips as she felt her body plummet about ten feet, not a terribly long fall, but when you’re tied up…well. Hitting the ground with a thud, she rolled onto her stomach, letting the blood flow back. Her head hurt, and the room spun and she closed her eyes, her stomach flipped and she swallowed lick at her lips to sooth them. Her heart was pounding she had to get out of here, while they weren’t back, only one man stood out from the three, his voice it was familiar…but she couldn’t place him, but he seemed to know her, and well at that.
It took several tries before she could get herself up, her arms stuck behind her back with the way she’d fallen. Fingers gripped at the ragged rock as she slid her back up higher on the wall, managing to get to her feet. She shuffled forward, careful not to take steps that were too long or else she’d wind up falling. She’d already almost done that twice. It didn’t help that she could hear foot steps from somewhere behind her, but they were far off. If only she had access to her powers…she could get out of here, or protect herself…get help.
She kept moving in the darkness with no idea where she was going, she went on feel alone, what felt right to her. She could only hope it was the exit, or perhaps she’d find her bag. She had a distress remote, something she’d been given by Karen before she’d left.
“Just incase”
Power Girl’s words seemed to echo in her mind, and she could almost see that memory so clearly it hurt. Would she ever see her again, what if she never got out of here? Lights suddenly illuminated the tunnel, the change was blinding, going from pitch black to the world covered in white light was a lot, and she winced her eyes squeezing shut as she tried to open them just a little to see where she was. She could just make out the silhouette of a man but it was his voice that had her frozen in place, black hair disheveled around her face and shoulders. Her hair had grown out a bit and needed to be cut.
”Terra, having some trouble?”
The words were sneered out, as the man came closer to her, she could hear the sound of his foot falls. He was angry it radiated off of him, but he also had much to say.
”Let’s see just who comes to your aid, and you can watch them suffer, just as I have thanks to you Stratans! Trying to take what is so rightfully mine! You’re going to pay”
With that said he clicked into place with her mind, this was Richard Faulkner and somehow he’d gotten out of Strata. “You can’t! Don’t!” she cried her voice heavy with alarm, no…now she might be taking her friends down with her. She watched in horror as he pressed the little button in the center of the device as its signal was transmitted to several stations, it would appear on only a few frequencies, only in a few select areas. A heavy foot pressed with a lot of force into her chest and stayed there well after she was knocked on her behind.
“Sit down, wait a while. Relax; I’m sure they’ll be here soon. You heroes don’t abandon your own”
