It’s tough, you know? To be Oliver Queen. To be Green Arrow. Getting respect isn’t normally on the docket, but I manage to handle the situation OK enough. Unless, situation permitted, I end up in a bad spot, and no easy way out of it.
In that case, I usually just take my shots, get the cards that need to be dealt to me, and hope for the best. Because, in the end, that’s all we get. As humans. “Hope,” and the Will to deal with it all. We can’t all be Superman.
We can’t all be...
It isn’t like they’re that great, though. The Justice League--in the end, they lack the social conscience to really achieve anything more than earning brownie points for being the Army’s super human battery against the big threats they can’t take down.
What about the little guys? There’s millions, maybe even billions, out there, and they don’t do a damn thing to try and help them.
How ‘bout that.
It’s alright, though. None of you have anything to worry about anymore. You’ve got Green Arrow on your side.
And, maybe, I’ll be able to head up to the Big League soon. With enough luck, I can show the Justice League what a little social conscience can do to benefit them. And everyone else.
I’ve met a lot of you guys out in the chat box, but, there’s no pain in trying to throw a little ‘hi’ your way in here, is there? There’s not much to say, except that you can call me “Ollie” (people say that I’m as close to the genuine article as someone can get, anyway) and that it’s nice to meet you all. There’s plenty of DC Comics RPGs out there (especially now that Batman’s back out in the box office, and “Man of Steel” got announced at Comic Con), but, this one honestly caught my eye.
The New 52 hasn’t gotten much in terms of anything but being overlooked, but, I’m liking it so far. It’s doing everything that’s already been done, sure, but it’s taking a new path to reach that outcome. So, really, as they claimed, DC is letting us have our cake and eat it, too, by letting us have a taste of a new modernization of our favourite characters--even throwing us a few new characters in the mix to top it off.
Either way, I’m twenty-five. I’m a Gemini. I like long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners, and the occasional jaunt out in the world to see what sort of fun I can cook up. I’m happily engaged, and trying to get my fiancee into comics (DC Comics, at least), and that’s coming along swimmingly.
It’s nice to meet all of you. I felt like making my presence known, and saying that it’s going to be nice to role-play alongside all of you. I’m just a regular guy, aspiring to do this for a living, so, don’t judge me too harshly.
Also, I’ve been role-playing Ollie for some odd number of years, alongside other major (and minor) characters like Trickster, the Flash (both Barry and Wally), Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, Batman, Superman, Superboy, Robin (Tim Drake, and Dick Grayson), Red Hood, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan, John Jones (Martian Manhunter), and any other characters you could probably conceive.
That’s nothing that I’m bragging about--only thought I should include credentials so that, if you guys ever need, I can help start out threads, NPC people, and do any other fun-filled story things you might need.
