Mission Briefing: After months of investigation [HERO] finally finds out the Fight Club’s exact location. They must infiltrate the club and shut it down. [/ul][/size]
R O U L E T T EThe first rule of fight club, you do not talk about Fight Club. At least that’s what it said on every waiver that was signed and stamped with the club’s seal. Every member read these rules, and if they did not follow it – well let’s just say the Fight Club had a way of finding these things out. Membership was expensive, and maintaining Fight Club required a lot of underground dirty work that wouldn’t be appreciated by the authorities. In fact, everything about Fight Club was absolutely illegal. But who the hell cared? People wanted to be entertained and Fight Club offered a whole new level of entertainment.
The rules of Fight Club were simple; you signed up and paid a monthly membership to ensure you maintained a spot for a fight. If you weren’t fighting, you weren’t making money. You got into the arena, all rules were set by the referee and if you stepped out of line then you were immediately disqualified and your membership revoked. If you fought, well the brawling rules were pretty simple – EVERYTHING was legal. If you didn’t like it, then you didn’t have to get into the ring. These sorry saps however needed to publicity and the spotlight to reel in cash for their massive debts. Punches, kicks, blunt objects, edged weapons – all of this and anything was completely legal in the fight. The goal of the four 3 minute rounds was to knock out your opponent – even if it meant killing them.
Fight Club had been in operation for about eight months now. There were a few rats here and there, but they were immediately disposed. All members were put on a tight a watch and earnings were on a 20/80 basis. Not that the members knew how much they were making, that was for Fight Club staff only. Money was reeled in from spectators who bet on each fight, the audience ranged from your regular Joe Schmoes who wanted a good kick but the real money was in the guys who came from big corporations who needed something to spend their money on and something to do with their otherwise mundane lives.
The events were hosted online across private servers that could only be accessed with exclusive memberships rights – again another service you had to pay for. Money was sent to an offshore bank account that was completely secured and then picked up in cash to be transported back to the Fight Club head managers and to be distributed appropriately. Once again, everything was done in complete secrecy. That was the fun of Fight Club, keeping everything a secret, it was the best kept secret and everybody was paying for it.
Tonight’s fight was a featured fight. Everyone had been requesting metahuman brawls, but Roulette was having difficulties obtaining them due to some heightened sense of paranoia they obtained. So she had to get them the next best thing, former amateur fighting champions from across the nation who had long lost the spotlight and were now looking for ways to pay off all the debt they accumulated in their glory days.
It was one thing to watch regular guys off the street brawl, but to watch professionals fight was another. Now that was entertainment, that meant that fights would last for more than one round and that you wouldn’t have opponents running chicken and backing out last minute. These fights were prime.
As such, these fights reeled in a huge amount of cash, a lot more than they normally have done in the past. Roulette sought to ensure that things would orchestrate quite smoothly. She made sure to hire more security guards, install better security systems and ensure that everybody who checked into the fight was – of course eligible to enter. The last thing she wanted as an absolute travesty occurring on her biggest fight night and she was willing to do whatever it took ensure everything played out as planned.
Standing above the underground stadium in a box, she watched as lights flickered and the crowd roared as the announcer began to hype up the first fight. To her side a computer screen lit as the total sums for this first fight checked in. Her eyes flicked to it and widened slightly as they counted the amount of zeros in that sum.
Biggest night of Fight Club, there was no way she was going to let anything go wrong from here.
