Once the cloak is completely closed the white line is visible to see as it flows downwards in a straight line

History
Maria Panessa Bertinelli, wife of Franco Bertinelli of the Mafia family in Gotham City, was the subject of frequent beatings from her husband, though he was sure never to beat her face. Maria decided to have an affair with a man named Santo Cassamento. As a result, Maria became pregnant, with her husband knowing it was not his own child and still beat Maria. Maria gave birth to a girl whom she named Helena Rosa. For eight years, Helena grew up in a mafia household, never suspecting the criminal dealings that took place there.
When Helena was eight years old, a man barged in to the Bertinelli household during dinner and shot Franco, Maria and Pino Bertinelli, sparing Helena. The hit came from Mandragora who wished for no vendettas against him. Helena's biological father passed the order along with a modification that "the sister" be spared. Santo was referring to Maria. But the gunman confused Maria with Helena and so Helena was spared, though she was not supposed to be.
Helena was placed under the care of her Uncle Tomasso's nephew, Salvatore Asaro. She was taken back to the old country, Sicily, where she would be kept safe and where the family was still strong. When arriving, she was terrified. Helena remained there for a number of years. Watching her cousin and uncle train and practice with weapons and hand-to-hand combat. However, the nightmares stayed with her. One night, her cousin showed her that only she could stop the nightmare by putting an end to those who murdered her family: blood cries for blood. When taken into the barn, she asked her cousin to teach her how, picking up a crossbow on the wall. She trained until the age of fifteen when she was sent to a boarding school in Switzerland to protect her from the Italian authorities who were cracking down on the Mafia.
When reading and seeing what was happening, she realized that everything she had been told was a lie about the Mafia. She realized that the Mafia was a force of corruption and evil and for a hundred years, it had been headed by her own family in Gotham City. At age sixteen, she finally returned to Gotham City to spend Christmas with her uncle. However, she hated everyone there. During the party, Helena witnessed her family finally frightened of something. Batman had crashed the party and fought with them. Helena realized that she could fight them too.
Helena returned to Switzerland for school where she plotted her vengeance. She went to her old house in Sicily (which had since been abandoned as a result of her uncle and cousin being arrested), and took a crossbow and a number of items for her crusade. Enrolling at the university in Palermo, she learned all about the Mafia. She constructed her costume and a number of weapons. She thought herself as a nun, totally devoted to her quest. She returned to Gotham in pursuit of vengeance as the Huntress.
Huntress ended the lives of Mandragora and the assassin who murdered her family. Sometime later, Nightwing and she began a brief romantic relationship while working together on a murder case of a police officer with connections to the Mafia.
During the "No Man's Land" Declaration in Gotham City, she briefly donned the guise of Batgirl to better inspire fear into the criminals of Gotham City, though she would also work in the guise of Huntress. She began the habit of marking territories in No Man's Land, all of which would be adopted by the criminals and GCPD. Though Batman knew the entire time that it was Huntress under the cape and cowl, he eventually ordered her to give it up. Batman would give Huntress' Batgirl outfit to Cassandra Cain. Helena continued to be Huntress in No Man's Land, allying herself with a renegade police officer to the point where she assisted in capturing Nightwing and Oracle (though in the end, she helped them escape). On New Year's Eve, the final day of No Mans Land, the Joker attacked her. Joker shot the Huntress five times that night. She survived the encounter and fully recovered, earning Batman's respect.
To curve Helenas violent attitude, Batman nominated her for a position in the Justice League. However, Batman revoked her membership when she was about to kill Prometheus. After a series of murders which seemingly pointed to her as the killer, Huntress became wanted by Batman and Nightwing. Fortunately for her, she tumbled into the bay where she was picked up and rescued by the Question. She was taken to Canada where she was trained by the Question's sensei for three months. The two then traveled back to Gotham where she shared the story of her becoming the Huntress. The time Question and Huntress spent together sparked a relationship. However, when Huntress discovered who had been framing her, she discovered more then she bargained for. She discovered her true father as being Santo Cassamento and he was responsible for the death of her family. As a result, Helena asked a favor of her Uncle Tomasso. Santo was lured to the docks and was killed by Tomasso's men. The Question did not approve of what Helena had asked, and inquired when the killing would stop. He left her as she threw her golden cross into the water.
Batman funded her for a new uniform and a new bike would later return the favor by saving his life when he took a fall in Crime Alley by fighting off attackers and putting him into the Batmobile, something she would later remark he'd never thank her for. The Scarecrow, working with the mysterious Hush, drugged her, and manipulated Helena into attacking Catwoman, which she perceived as her old self. With the aid of Batman, the Scarecrow's drugs wore off and Helena made a full recovery. The Huntress soon found herself soon allied with Oracle and Black Canary and continues to fight crime in both Gotham City and Metropolis as an official member of the Birds of Prey.
While still being on the Birds of Prey, Huntress served with the Outsiders when Arsenal was shot five times in the chest and was put out of the line of duty for three months where she was at constant odds with Nightwing, despite their past relationship. Immediately after Arsenal was able to serve again, Huntress left the Outsiders.
One year after the events of Infinite Crisis, Huntress became its field leader with Black Canarys departure from the Birds of Prey and her replacement heroines including Big Barda and Manhunter. During this time, Huntress redesigned her costume to fully cover her body.
Powers and Abilities
Known Powers: No known super-human abilities.
Known Abilities:
Skilled in Fighting: Ever since she was born, Helena has always been a fighter. The persona of the Huntress is excellent at fighting. Learning from her cousin and uncle for years. Huntress is a trained Olympic athlete. Her body was trained to near perfection identical to what Bruce Wayne has done, although she doesn’t have any superpowers Huntress is a strong martial artist who’s styles including Dragon Kung Fu.
Skilled in Weapons: Hell, yes she is. Besides being taught how to fight. She was taught about what to fight with. Not quite as skilled as the Batman with weapons, she certainly knows her way around them. Whether if it’s a crossbow, or a just a metal bar. Give her anything; she’ll make it a deadly weapon.
Marksmanship: When you think of Huntress you think of the crossbow. When you think of the crossbow. You think of her arrows that are probably going to be shot at you. Helena has been trained in the art of shooting, and is one of the best marksman you'll see. She is able to shoot her target whether it is five feet or thirty feet away. This does not limit it down to just her crossbow though. Helena is handy with the bows and arrows, throwing knifes, and once batarangs. She has great aim, and it’s the target practically every time. It’s only normal after all of the years of practice.
English Degree from University of Palmero: Okay, okay, I get it. You’re probably thinking what is an English degree going to do as Huntress. Well, besides noticing grammar mistakes in the criminal notes. She can use that lovely degree to get numerous jobs, foremost an English teacher. So as you can see this doesn't really help the Huntress, more like Helena Bertinellli.
Motor Skills: The mistress of the night, knows how to ride anything given too her. Whether it be a motorcycle, like she prefers. Or an old Volkswagen, you give to her she can drive it. Helena learned at the age of fourteen how to drive a motorcycle, and learned at the age of sixteen how to drive a car. She knows much about both. Able to repair any vehicle if she has too.
Pilot: It wasn't necessarily a skill that Huntress has always has. But being on the Birds of Prey teaches you a thing or too. Whilst Zinda drives her pilot, Helena has always been observant to watch her. If any case she would have to pilot a plane she would be ready.
Intimidation: Helena is quite good at scaring information out of her foes. She uses her voice, her appearance, and even pain to strike fear into the heart of criminals, much like Batman. It was Batman that originally inspired Helena, and he secretly still does.
Interrogation: Huntress is very good at getting information from enemies. Though she likes using pain to get information, she is skilled with bribery, lying, and "bending the truth" to get what she wants to know.
Strength Level: Average for a woman who works out very hard every day.
Weaknesses: Human: Huntress is tough as steel sometimes. But she is not made of steel like other heroes. Which makes her vulnerable to stabbing, excessvie blood wounds, bullets, diseases, fatal attacks, got the picture?
Too much rage: You think you've seen the Huntress mad think again. She has so much pent up anger, that many people have not tasted the full wrath of Helena Bertinelli. However, when the full extent does come out. She tends to over do her job. In other words, she causes severe injuries too many. And if someone really pisses her off, well killiing that person is certainly on of her choices.
Impulsive: My, oh my is she impulsive. Helena jumps into situations without realizing that there are two sides of a story. At times, she may even attack the innocent thinking they are the guilty. Or if there is something that is dangerous that needs to be done. She will do it without consulting anyone else. She just doesn't think things through, this might get her killed one day. But for now it is a trait of hers, that has kept her as the Huntress for this long.
Past Memories: Helena watched her entire family being slaughtered before her young eyes. It was a mark that would never leave her. Although, she has since be rid of those nightmares that come to relive that night. Every now and than the horrific memories of the past creep up in her mind somehow.
Accessories
Equipment:
Utility Belt: Where would all of her gizomo's and gadgets go? Where else than a nifty utiility belt. Inside it contains the following equipment.
Infrared flashlight
Infrared Ordinance
Smoke capsules
Fingerprint analysis kit
Fingerpritn analysis kit
First aid kit
Lockpicking tools
Tear gas pellets
Micro-processor power source
Micro-recorder (updated regularly)
Grappling Gun
Rebreather and gas mask
Transportation:
Motorcycle: Helena has a motorcycle, and damn does she love it. Fashioned after her Huntress costume, it is painted purple and black, with her insignia on the side. It is able to go up too two hundred miles per hour, not that she needs it too. Like any other bat family members equipment her motorcycle is tricked with out, with an assortment of motorcycle equipment
Weapons:
Crossbow: The beloved crossbow. This is Helena's choice of weapon in any matter. It was the first weapon she touched, and the fist weapon she learned how to use. Out of all her weapons, she is best skilled at this one. Her crossbow is from her grandfather, a one that she took. It looks like a basic crossbow, except that she has updated it to go at least ten to twenty miles when shooting it, and the arrows are now differed and changed, from steel to plain wood. Depending on what mood she is in.
Knives: Hooo doggy, does she have an assortment. From easy little pocket knifes, to macheti's. Each one is sharpened and ready to use if she has too. Don't make her.
Twin-Pistols: These she rarely uses, but if the occasion calls for it she will use these. A bit more deadlier than her crossbow, Helena has these in her costume just in case. They are apparently twin pistols, all fully loaded, hand crafted. Both were stolen from her cousin's house.
Metallic Staff: Often used when she is against a crowd of people. This staff is very, if not extremely useful. Helena being trained in the art of using a bo staff, can use this to swipe anyone off there feet, and leave a few bruises here and there. But again, this is usually used when the odds are against her.
Sample Role Play Post
The darkness of Gotham City continued to spread as night fell. All across the city its inhabitants went on with their daily lives, unaware that crime was everywhere luckily it was the home of the Dark Knight Batman and his allies. Rain began to fall within their dozens, lightning struck just like two swords fighting in the very heavens. Darkness continued to cradle Gotham City in its deadly covering. The city continued to prosper with its people full unaware of a secret war being waged against crime. For Helena Bertinelli the world was going crazy. Yet all she could do was continue her vow and sweep down on her opponents not as Helena but as The Huntress, lately her patrol has been a bit quiet. But Huntress still had a vow to uphold so once again she took to the rafters to begin her daily patrol sweep of Gotham City. Using one of her grappling hooks Huntress swung across from roof top to roof top and landed on the roof of a nearby building.
Standing on top of a ledge overlooking the city Helena sighed. Her long purple cloak gently and easily flowed across her body like a cocoon encasing its host, taking out some binoculars Huntress scanned the area of any signs of movement. While piercing the darkness Huntress spotted a large group of thugs, trying to mug a young woman while the others huddled into a group preventing the innocent woman from escaping, gritting her teeth in anger Huntress swung down towards the group.
Flying down Huntress aimed both legs and feet towards two of the thug's. Combining the speed of the swing and the strength in her legs she thrusted her feet straight into the head of two of the thugs, knocking them down face first Huntress stood in front of the frightened woman. One of them called out to the newly arrived vigilante"Hey cape lady! get out of our way and we will go easy on you!". Huntress just sighed and stared hard into the one who spoke, her eyes were as sharp as a sword and gently narrowed.
With a reply of her own she said "Bring it!". She said in total anger and complete confidence in her words, the thug soon got angry himself and charged forwards towards her. But Huntress quickly ducked and quickly lowered her head, just as the thug tried to tackle her, Huntress used her body weight and literally used her head and shoulders to back body drop the thug onto his back. The next thug took out a large chain and threw it towards Huntress, the chain found its mark by wrapping itself around the arm of the Huntress, but to counter Huntress grabbed the chain and pulled it towards her forcing the attack thug to be pulled towards her direction.
From there Huntress threw a punch into the second attacking thugs stomach. Then she swiftly she used the chain against the second thug by using a standard swipe right into the thugs face. Using it full force to allow it to not only leave her arm but to force blood out of the thugs nose and mouth, the third grabbed a rusty metal pipe and tried to swipe at Huntress. But she did a backward somersault and landed at a distance, looking slightly angry she grabbed a small metal object which soon opened out revealing a metal bo staff.
The thug charged forwards for a swing in a side sweep of the pipe. But Huntress blocked by pushing her staff forwards to force the pipe down towards the ground while the thug was holding it, then from there she pulled the staff upwards with all her might and aimed the edge of the staff towards the middle of the thug's legs. Groaning in pain the thug fell down to two knees but was soon met by a swing of the Huntress into his face, knocking him down towards the ground. With a sigh she turned to the other thugs before her, swinging the staff around Huntress quickly decreased the size of the staff and placed it back into her weapons belt.
Two other thugs quickly nodded and slowly began to reach for their guns. Huntress quickly noticed this and stood ready to counter, while the guns were took out from the thugs, Huntress quickly took out her mini crossbows and fired two bolt arrows towards the thugs. The first bolt arrow forced the first thug with the gun to drop it as it landed into the back of the thugs hand, the second bolt arrow landed into the thugs left leg, soon she knocked the two out with punch and a side kick.
Finally the last thug stood looking a bit scared. But he charged forwards anyway, Huntress quickly grabbed the arm of the last thug and slammed him against the wall, holding her arm against his neck Huntress said "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't break your neck!". The thug who was struggling weakly said to her "I give up lady...I give up please don't kill me!". The Huntress quickly pulled her arm away and allowed the final thug to get some needed air.
Putting her crossbow back into her weapons belt Huntress stood before the thug and said "If I catch you again...you won't be so lucky!". With that she threw her knee straight into the face of the thug with full force knocking him out, looking over to the lady she said" You better call the police". She said coldy to the scared innocent women. With a shaking nod Huntress quickly exited the scene while she called the police, standing back on the roof tops Huntress quickly reloaded her crossbow and placed it back into her weapon's belt.
Watching the police tending to the injured thugs Huntress once again continued her vengeance by swinging across from rooftop to rooftop hunting for more prey from the criminal world.
