History
Eddie was born to his loving parents Sylvie and Robert Bloomberg in a hospital not far from the place Eddie’s aunt, Marla Bloom, was producing a movie with her film company. His parents, overwhelmed with work and the stress of life, worked out a way for Eddie to be handed off between them and Marla. After a while, his visits with Marla became so frequent that his parents allowed Marla to raise him while they tried to make a stable environment for their son and future children to grow up in. It was there, being dragged from movie lot to movie lot, that Eddie “Gopher” Bloomberg grew up. From the time he learned to walk he was acting as his aunts assistant and gopher to the film company and it was during the time that Marla started filming the Blue Devil movies that twelve-year-old Gopher met Daniel Cassidy, a stuntman for the real Blue Devil. Even though Dan wasn’t famous or anything, Gopher developed a sense of admiration for the stuntman that bordered on hero worship. When the evil demon Nebiros attacked the set while Dan was in the Blue Devil suit, Gopher watched in fascination as the magic bound the suit to Danny’s skin, making him the real Blue Devil.
Using his vast knowledge of superheroes, gadgets, and how things worked around movie sets, Eddie dreamed of becoming Blue Devil’s sidekick to a point where he snuck into Cassidy’s workshop one night and built himself a replica suit and trident that enabled him the benefits of super strength, endurance, and the ability to fly using the rocket feature in the trident. However, Dan Cassidy wasn’t feeling up to being a hero himself, let alone taking on a sidekick, and so Gopher was declined over and over again to help his idol. But that didn’t stop him from trying. Whether Blue Devil liked it or not, he had a new sidekick named Kid Devil. But such joy was short lived, for only a couple of hero journeys later Eddie’s parents decided to bring him back home to Syracuse, New York. However, even after they dragged him away from his aunt, his parents left their genius son in the hands of three professors from the Institute of Hypernormal Conflict Studies. It was there, in New York, that Eddie finally teamed up with his pen-pal Jason Todd, the second Robin, and became even more determined to become a superhero with or without his mentor’s consent.
Only a short while later, Blue Devil began to accept his role as a superhero and even joined the Justice League. However, he soon lusted after the limelight of Hollywood once more and made a pact with the demon “Wish Granter” Neron. While Neron made Danny a super star, he had to destroy a power plant. The consequence of his actions was causing Marla Bloom, who had been in a helicopter not far off, to crash and die as her pilot lost control of the craft. Danny only told Eddie of this much, much later. The result of his aunt’s untimely death was a burning desire to make her proud, and as such he tried to make it in the movie business. However, that career was over before it started. As such, he donned the red suit and trident once again to help Young Justice and a number of other heroes to take down Zandia.
In the year after Infinite Crisis, Eddie met with a multitude of other would-be Titans to try and get on the team. Seeing as his trident broke down outside of San Francisco and he had to run the rest of the way, he didn’t make a good impression and was turned away. In his desperation to become a superhero, Pulsar helped him into a project Lex Luthor was doing to try and give normal humans superpowers. However, he was turned away by them too because of “psychological problems”. A couple of weeks later, Eddie was visited by a cloaked figure who gave him a candle. Desperate to know what it was, he took it to his friend and former Titan after the Crisis Zachary Zatara who told him it was a demon candle that would take him to its creator when lit. Eddie, acting on impulse, lit it and transported both he and Zat to Neron’s lair. Neron makes a deal with Kid Devil, granting him powers to use as he wishes as long as he trusts Blue Devil. If, by his 20th birthday, Eddie doesn’t trust Daniel, then his soul is Neron’s and he becomes the demon’s protégée. Before Zat and Eddie leave Neron’s lair the demon tells Kid Devil that its Blue Devil’s fault that his aunt died.
Soon after, Zachary helped Eddie join the Teen Titans and they battle Kid Crusader together. Zat has promised to keep Eddie’s secret, but one year after the Crisis, Zatara and Eddie have grown apart to the point where Zat doesn’t want anything to do with Kid Devil. In the Teen Titans Kid Devil has formed a bond with Rose Wilson, Ravager, seeing as both are the only ones in the new generation of Titans. For many months Eddie claims that he has been receiving calls from Danny Cassidy in order to fit in with the others. In all reality, he’s been speaking with no one seeing as Blue Devil refuses to return his young “sidekick’s” calls. After a run in with Plasmus and later the Doom Patrol, Eddie seeks out his mentor in order to confront him about Marla’s death. Eddie finds Danny outside a church and follows him in, despite the burns he receives upon entering and staying inside the holy place. After pestering Dan for a bit the elder Devil admits that he killed Marla, by saying that he had made sure that no one was around and working at the plant before he destroyed it. Unfortunately, Marla was. Eddie, horrified about his idol lying to him about the single most important event in his life, lost his trust in Blue Devil and ran from the church, yelling at Dan to stay away from him, to never come near him.
With his trust in Blue Devil lost, Eddie has only three years left of life as he knows it. However, he plans on making the best of those three years he has left. He plans on having a good time with his friends and living up to his role as Kid Devil. The only comfort he has about his upcoming 20th birthday is that Neron can never take Marla’s memory from him.
Characteristics
Age: 18
Height: 5'7
Weight: 156
Eyes: Gold
Hair: Silver
Unusual Features: He has horns, and a tail. His eyes are entirely gold. He's also half demon. You tell me whats unusual about him.
Personality: Once upon a time, Eddie was a sweet young boy with a dream, a dream to become a hero. Around girls he was overcome with shyness, but around boys and other superheroes he was overcome with a sense to prove himself. Alas, however, for in light of recent events that personality of his has changed. He is no longer the shy, hyper kid he was. Instead, he’s much calmer and takes nothing for granted. Instead of holding his tongue and acting polite to girls, he’s started to flirt more, although he does still get flustered quite easily whenever Rose uses him as her own personal cigarette lighter. He’s no longer centered only on the good-guy aspect, and as such, he’s started to discover a whole new part of him.
Part of this new persona he’s uncovered is an overwhelming hate and sadness. Where trust once was is anguish that his own stupidity will eventually lead to his downfall. Whenever he’s alone he merely stares off into space, thinking about all that he will be missing when he turns twenty, about all the friends he’ll leave behind, and about all the things that will remain unsaid and unfinished. Another half of this is anger at his former idol, Daniel Cassidy. The man he’d respected since he was twelve had suddenly devolved into a dirty rat no better than the super-villains the Titans fight, in Eddie’s opinion. Without a father figure in his life, Eddie is also left lost and without guidance, and that only adds fuel to the fire of anger and anguish deep inside him.
An upside of this sudden time limit of his free life is that Kid Devil is a lot more daring and honest than he used to be. He isn’t hiding what he feels anymore and instead says what’s on his mind. He’s slowly building up trust with his team, biding his time until he tells them exactly how he received his powers and what will happen to him. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s not reluctant to do so. Whenever such moment comes up in the Tower, someone always tends to say something to ruin the moment, to push Eddie’s secret back into himself. However, his bolder relationship with his best friend, Rose, is starting to help him loosen up even more. Its only a matter of time before the last of Eddie’s barriers are broken and all his secrets are laid bare.
However, all the encouragement and bravery in the world can’t quell the fear he feels for this final admittance.
Powers
Known Powers: Originally, Eddie wore a Devil suit, which gave him enhanced strength and agility, near impenetrable armor, a weapons system that included bright light burst effect, exploding bubbles, night vision and mini-gills. He also had a rocket trident which could propel him through the air for distances of up to several miles and could emit flames and/or electric shocks.
Post Infinite Crisis, Eddie has a demonic appearance and inherent abilities, both granted to him by Neron. His new form gives him a capacity to breathe fire, enhanced strength and endurance, and an ability to heal from non-fatal wounds ten times faster than a human. When punched in the stomach, Eddie can't control his fire breath. Eddie's blood is now a thick gasoline-smelling liquid, his breath is hotter than fire, his own skin is able to cause burns (being at two hundred degrees) and he has been seen to be able to increase this to the point of his skin turning white hot, he has retractable wings underneath his arms, he possesses a prehensile tail, and his internal temperature is six hundred degrees.
Known Abilities:Considering that his skin is red, has a tail, and has horns, Eddie no longer goes to school and received only a 10th grade education. Even though that set him back, he is still considered a genius.
Eddie can also cook very well and can make a mean pancake.
Strength Level:
Kid Devil has the strength level of a teenager who exercises a considerable amount, plus the whole enhanced Neron-gaven strength thing.
Weaknesses:

Transportation: Self propelled flight with the aid of his wings
