*Two Hours Ago*
"Dinah Lance, also known as Black Canary has issued a request to return to the Justice League. However, pending her previous actions and associations..."
A moment had passed as Wally simply shook his head. This was ridiculous. Dinah didn't do anything to betray them. She left without notice sure but, there were times when Heroes needed a break and didn't feel the need to just tell everyone. It wasn't like Huntress's situation after all. And that was a part of it: Her 'associations' but in Wally's opinion, that didn't mean anything. She wasn't shacking up with Lex Luthor after all, just a friend. Even if he didn't agree with the way Ollie or Helena handled things, they weren't committing crimes for the most part. And Wally knew better than to judge. Revenge is a powerful emotion that can drive anyone to make decisions they normally wouldn't.
"Excuse me for interrupting but, is there something I'm missing here? If we're kicking people out purely out of their tendencies to leave without telling anyone and shady friends, Batman would already be rejected on more than one occasion."
Mr. Terrific looked towards Wally as he said this. Truth be told the rest of the League was out and about doing things. Only himself, J'onn, Steel, and Mr. Terrific were here to make this 'big decision' and Wally didn't buy the amount of effort they were making over something that was so minor.
"Flash does have a point. There are a lot of individuals who don't have the squeaky clean background that myself or Clark would have, And it's clear to me that Dinah hasn't done anything to warrant distrust."
J'onn responded in defense of Wally's claim, as Wally wondered about the situation at hand. Steel however was pondering something and looked towards Wally.
"What she's been through recently however is troubling. There is no telling what came from it. If someone planted something in her mind."
Wally had to ponder this also. He wasn't usually the one brought into these meetings so he wasn't used to it, truthfully only here because the final decision of an original was required in circumstances like these. All the same, Wally wasn't fully convinced.
"As far as the Psychic and Hypnotic tricks and traps, we can easily ave J'onn sweep for anything like that. The trauma itself is more reason why she needs our companionship and guidance, especially with Ollie not in her life anymore. I do agree that she will need some sort of probationary period to be given time to see if it isn't too much too soon. I will personally chaperone that."
"Wally, isn't that a bit-"
"I don't care if it's too much for me to be at her side, I'm the people person here and I know Dinah and Ollie. The only other person we could attach to her that won't drive her to drink is Diana, and she's too busy for that. I'll do it. Is that enough for everyone here? A Two month probationary period where I accompany her on missions and requests."
*Present Time*
Wally never really liked the first time meetings with someone on obscure circumstances but to be honest, the other options were Batman, the king of dreary and melancholy. He loved Bats to death but, he wasn't the correct person to accommodate someone who recently went through torture. And then there was Superman, who was a boy scout. Again, those two towering, unwavering personalities would only push Dinah away. She needed a friend to help her through things in the big boys club and to keep things under control. Wally was, in a rare instance, not in his Flash uniform. Instead, simply wearing his jeans and a tank top with a coat over it. He was in Gotham so he had to somewhat dress down. Last thing he needed was to inspire one of the Gotham Rogue's to try and take a swing at him. Especially The Joker. Crazy Clowns weren't exactly Wally's strong suit. The presented address was a decent sized apartment on the third floor and without further notice, he sighed and knocked on the door.
"Dinah, are you home? It's Wally."
