History
During the Vietnam War, American soldier Bob Pullman had an affair with a Vietnamese woman, leaving her pregnant with the child who would someday be the terrorist Cheshire. The girl, named Jade Nguyen, was separated from her mother at the age of ten, and she wandered through Asia for a time, before being captured by slavers and being sold into slavery. She killed her “master” shortly thereafter, and escaped, swearing no man would ever again be her master.
The details of the next few years of Cheshire’s life are hazy. It is known that she encountered Weng Chan, former member of the WWII era Blackhawk Squadron, who took her under his wing and taught her everything he knew about guerrilla warfare. At the age of sixteen she met and married Kruen Musenda, the African assassin known as Spitting Cobra, who taught her everything he knew about poisons. After his death, Jade, then eighteen, took the name Cheshire, and struck out on her own to begin her career as an international terrorist and assassin.
Cheshire’s first encounter with the superhero community was when she was hired with a group of other assassins to kill the New Teen Titans. The plot failed, but Cheshire escaped. Shortly thereafter, she met Roy Harper, then retired from his super hero career as Speedy, who was working for the government. He was to gain Cheshire’s trust and turn her over to the authorities, but he fell in love with her, and her with him. They became lovers, but Roy felt his duty was important, and left her with no explanation. When she next encountered the Titans, Speedy was again in costume and a member of the team, and Cheshire revealed that she had had a child by Roy, named Lian, before she escaped capture again.
While on another assignment, this time to kill a group of ambassadors and stop a peace treaty from happening, Cheshire again encountered Roy, this time accompanied by Nightwing. They were attempting to stop her and take Lian from her. With the aid of Weng Chan, Cheshire fought off the two heroes and escaped, but left Lian behind. Whether this was just to easily affect her escape, or out of the love she still felt for Roy, it is unknown.
Cheshire continued her career as a mercenary, but her behavior began to grow more erratic. She helped Deathstroke the Terminator recover from near death, and used him to aid her in her plan to obtain nuclear weapons to blackmail the world’s powers. After obtaining them, Cheshire detonated one in the capital city of the Middle eastern nation of Quarac, hoping that, since the nation was know for its terrorist activities, the people of the world would look more kindly upon her. They did not, and again Roy Harper, now Arsenal, was sent to apprehend her. He was aided by Deathstroke, who had secretly been hired by the CIA, but again Cheshire eluded them, although nowhere was safe for the woman who was now the world’s most wanted terrorist.
Deciding that their might be safety in numbers, Cheshire founded a group of female mercenaries called the Ravens, including Pistolera and Vicious. On one of their early missions, while searching for a fallen satellite, they ran afoul of Black Canary, and the Ravens were inadvertently sent back in time. Cheshire found a way back, and abandoned her teammates, but lost a few months in the present. Upon her return she joined another group, this one called Tartarus, which was founded by Vandal Savage to destroy the Titans. The group did not lat long, and to exact his escape, Savage shot Cheshire to distract Roy Harper. Cheshire was saved, but was finally apprehended for her crimes.
The trial of Cheshire was held at the Hague for all her various crimes, but especially for the bombing of Quarac. Chandra, Lian’s nanny, was a Quaraci national, and revealed Cheshire’s location to a group of Quaraci terrorists who wanted revenge on Cheshire for the bombing, and who hired Deathstroke to eliminate her. Roy Harper stepped in to stop Deathstroke, but in the ensuing battle, Cheshire escaped yet again. But Cheshire’s own love for Lian was her undoing, and when she went to visit her daughter, she was captured by an ally of the Titans named Epsilon and returned to jail.
When the final sentence was handed down on Cheshire, it was life without the possibility of parole. Her old teammates in the Ravens, having finally returned from the past, wanted to exact revenge on her for abandoning them, and attempted a breakout. Roy Harper again stood in the way, but when Cheshire asked him to let her escape, Roy refused, and Cheshire was sent to the Slab to live out her life in captivity.
When Cheshire next escaped, she discovered the identity of her biological father, and the fact that he was a corrupt senator. Deciding to exact revenge on his abandoning of her and her mother, she manipulated Black Canary and Lady Shiva into helping her. Senator Pullman was arrested for his crimes, but Cheshire was not able to kill him, and in the process earned the animosity of Lady Shiva.
Most recently, Cheshire was hired by the Secret Society to eliminate Carl Sands, the Shadow Thief. In attempting to do this, she ran afoul of the new Manhunter, who used one of her weapons to tear off Cheshire’s artificial fingernails. Wounded, Cheshire escaped to heal, and swore revenge.
Cheshire is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, and has a good knowledge of guerilla combat as well. She is deadliest, though, because of her extensive knowledge of poisons, which she incorporates in most of her weaponry, including on the false fingernails she uses in combat.

Age: Twenties
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 135 lbs
Eyes: Black
Hair: Black
Unusual Features: none
Personality:
Code of Ethics - Cheshire is a woman with her own code of ethics. She does what she is paid to do, but if her employers repulse her, Cheshire may find a way to get back at them.
Personal - The only person who can cause Jade's personal feelings to interfere with her work is Roy Harper, the father of her child. Wen Ch'ang, however, has the privilege of being the only person allowed to call Cheshire 'Jade" while she is in her villainous persona, reflecting the closeness these two have fostered over the years.

Powers
Known Powers: None
Known Abilities:
One of the world's leading mercenaries and assassins, Cheshire is a deadly fighter that is also trained as a triple-jointed acrobat (giving her the ability to perform techniques most people can not hope to accomplish) and bears poison-tipped claws on her finger tips. It is also not uncommon for her to bear a sword. Though her supreme expertise in poisons has largely been removed from this fight (such as the use of gas or sprays), it should not be ruled out that she finds some way to use toxins on her opponents beyond her weapons.
Strength Level: Average Strength for a women who intensly works out daily
Weaknesses:
Roy Harper/ Lian Harper - The only person who can cause Jade's personal feelings to interfere with her work is Roy Harper, the father of her child.
Ethics - Cheshire follows her code to the "t." She does what she's paid to do and will follow through by all means, even if she is double crossed (she'll just get revenge later on)
Human - Cheshire is human, and while she understand poisons she can still be poisoned. She can be shot, bludgeoned, stabbed and can get sick.
Misc (optional)
Equipment: Various poisons and antidotes for said poisons
Transportation:
Weapons:
Finger Rings - A finger ring structure, particularly for rings having precious stones set therein, which has improved placement and removal characteristics and with a more comfortable fit even when sized in accordance with measurements as used in the prior art. The ring comprises a standard section of a cylinder, with an inner surface and an outer surface, and is modified such that the circumferential edges of the inner surface are inwardly rounded and wherein the rounded edges of the inner surface, adjacent a setting or ornamental section are provided with a bomb e configuration, i.e., an extended curved section, with a substantially arced inner surface configuration.
Daggers - A dagger is a single-edged or double-edged knife used for stabbing, thrusting, or as a secondary defense weapon in close combat. In most cases, a tang extends into the handle along the center line of the blade.
Poisons -
- Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is one of the most poisonous naturally occurring substances in the world. Though it is highly toxic, it is used in minute doses both to treat painful muscle spasms, and as a cosmetic treatment in some parts of the world.
- Hemotoxins target and destroy red blood cells, and are transmitted through the bloodstream.
- Necrotoxins cause necrosis (i.e., death) in the cells they encounter and destroy all types of tissue. Necrotoxins spread through the bloodstream, but infect all tissues. In humans, skin and muscle tissues are most sensitive to necrotoxins.
- Neurotoxins primarily affect the nervous systems
- Beijing Cocktail - A Chinese synthetic chemical that slows vital organ function until eventually those organs just stop. The only way to slow it down is to keep the flow of adrenaline constant.
- Iocane - A deadly Australian poison, odorless, tasteless and highly soluble
- Sarin. Sarin is an extremely deadly nerve gas. Initial symptoms are a runny nose and tightness in the chest. Breathing soon becomes constricted and nausea sets in. Next, you lose control of all your bodily functions and quickly become comatose. At that point, your body convulses and spasms while you suffocate. Scary, huh? This deadly poison was put on the UN's Weapon's of Mass Destruction list in 1993.
- Cyanide. Considered the "movie star" of deadly poisons due to its prevalence in crime fiction and movies, this very deadly poison (and effective plot device) is produced from certain bacteria, fungus, and plants. Exposure by inhalation or ingestion leads to seizures, cardiac arrest, and ultimately death.
- Strychnine. This creepy poison is a common pesticide and one of the bitterest substances known to man. Minutes after exposure, the head and neck muscles begin to spasm. The spasms soon spread to every muscle in the body-and don't stop. Death occurs through total exhaustion of the body from the intense convulsions or from asphyxiation. Stay away from this one.
- Ricin. This toxin is made from the castor bean. Twice as deadly as cobra venom, two-tenths of a milligram is a lethal dose. At one point, the U.S. Army considered using ricin as a chemical weapon. In 1978, the Bulgarian secret police secretly followed a well-known dissident and radical author and shot him in the leg with a pellet containing the deadly poison ricin. The weapon they used to fire the pellet was a modified umbrella.
- Anthrax. Touching Anthrax to your skin can infect you. However, the scariest and most deadly form of Anthrax is inhaled. Once inhaled, you experience cold or flu-like symptoms that don't go away for several days. This is followed by complete respiratory collapse.
