Characters Appearing: Cheshire, Lady Shiva.
Time of Day: Late Night
Location: Subway
Synopsis: Shiva seeks out Cheshire, a known assassin of reputable skill. Is Cheshire even more skilled than Shiva?
The woman was not careless, and proved quite difficult to track, indeed. Though, given the fact that she was considered one of the top assassins on the planet, that only made the chase that much more enticing. Shiva spent many hours following false leads, each one proving more fruitless than the last. She was beginning to wonder if the woman even existed, but then she spotted her. It had been random, just a glimpse out of the corner of her eye, but it had been enough. The subway, which was as good a spot as any for this to go down. Tight, enclosed spaces worked well for Shiva, who was more than skilled in such fights.
Her target was an assassin named Cheshire. This wasn't a sanctioned hit, just a challenge for Shiva. She had been hearing much about this assassin, and the skill she possessed. It intrigued Shiva to know that there was another female assassin, supposedly the best. An opportunity to take on someone like that was too good to pass up. Shiva moved through the empty subway station with grace and ease, boarding the car a few seconds behind the woman. Shiva wore a long jacket that covered up her body, but beneath was a combat suit that allowed her flexibility and ease of access to any weapon she might need. Her hair was tied back out of her face, and her emotionless face had the barest amounts of makeup applied, save for her lips which were a stark ruby red.
As she entered the car, she saw one person, an elderly man, sitting next to the door. Moving forward, she sat beside him. "Depart from this car before it leaves the station."
The coldness in her voice, and the steel in her eyes made the man jump out of the car without hesitation. Good, now they were alone. It was probably the last run for the subway until dawn, so they would not be interrupted. As the train started moving, Shiva stood and walked forward, stopping several feet behind Cheshire. Slipping the jacket off, she tossed it into the seat beside her. Time to get this started. "Do not make me strike you with your back turned. Face me, for I am sure you knew I was following you. You are, after all, Cheshire. And I doubt you need to ask who I am. I challenge you, Cheshire, assassin to assassin. What say you?"
It was not ego, but honor that compelled Shiva to offer the verbal challenge. Shiva was an assassin, yes, but she had honor. She never struck an opponent whose back was turned, and never someone as skilled as who she was about to face now. That was her code, though she doubted many would share her feelings. Though it didn't show, Shiva was prepared for a physical attack right from the start. If Cheshire decided to turn and attack, Shiva would have a counter ready and waiting.
