History
At the age of sixteen, Amanda Waller gave birth to Odalys Milagro Valdez. Seeing the young child as a mistake Amanda Waller immediately decided to put her up for adoption, knowing that the child would only hinder the successful future that she intended to have. Abandoning the child, Amanda Waller continued forth, on the trail toward making all her dreams come to life.
Odalys grew up in Orphanage that was owned by Hispanics and who took in way too many children than their Orphanage and expenses could pay. She grew up in an overcrowded bedroom, overcrowded halls and with a lack of privacy or alone time to let her think for herself. There was nothing that was just “hers” and she longed for the very idea of ownership, something that was just a dream for her.
Regardless, Odalys took advantage of what she could and worked arduously throughout her life. Since work was her only means of escape from her own reality she took it very seriously and practically engorged herself in it. She enjoyed the experiences and opportunities that were given to her from the start and made sure that every thing she did was a beneficiary factor to her personal life.
Her hard work got her very far in life, and after picking up various jobs she finally found herself working with the government as an intelligence officer for the Earth's super criminals. From there she was chosen to embark on a journey that would change her life.
Sergeant Rock, commander the Suicide Squad made a personal visit to Odalys and offered her a position on his team. Without hesitation, Odalys accepted the offer and took the mantle as second-in-command of Sgt. Rock's Suicide Squad. Sgt. Rock gave her the codename “Havana” his basis being that she was Hispanic.
Havana was a “behind the scenes” operative, typically in charge of the recruitment of members for the Suicide Squad as well as the communications and intelligence expert on the team. She worked alongside Modem and Bulldozer, providing the field team with the information they needed.
During her free time however, Sgt. Rock would train with Havana telling her that she might as well call him her father since she would be the next in line to be the team's leader.
The Suicide Squad that Havana helped lead consisted of, Killer Frost, Deadshot, Frank Rock, Major Disaster, Big Sir, Blackstarr, Bolt, Clock King, Cluemaster, and Reactron. Some of the members had lost their lives on the field however Havana understood that as criminals and as members of this team they were all expendable. So long as the mission was complete she was satisfied.
Her line of work brought up a confrontation with her mother, Amanda Waller for the first time. During that time she learned her full name as well as Amanda's confession that she had had her when she was sixteen and had no other choice but to put her up for adoption. Havana still felt some contempt for her mother but established some sort of inner peace with her. When in the company of Sgt. Rock once again, Havana requested that she never have to speak to her mother again, even if it was for “business” purposes.
The missions the Suicide Squad embarked upon eventually brought them face to face with a terrorist group known as the Onslaught, the current team made up of Rustam II, Digital Djinn, Tolteca, Antiphon, and Hyve. The Onslaught managed to capture key members, such as Havana, Sgt. Rock and Amanda Waller, as well as kill off Modem. As a last resort, the Suicide Squad turned to the JSA to perform a rescue mission intended for Amanda Waller.
While in captivity, Amanda Waller's life was put on the line by Rustam, however Havana attacked Rustam putting her own life on the line to save her mother. Rustam dealt a blow on her which was intended to kill and directed his attention once again to Waller. However before he could do anything else, a blood thirsty Deadshot busted in and shot Rustam multiple times, effectively killing him. The assassin turned his attention to Havana, however thought her to be already dead and moved on, expressing to Waller that he knew that Odalys was her daughter.
Just like any other Suicide Squad member, Havana's body was left to decay within the ruins of the terrorists base. However, Havana found herself awakening several hours after her supposed death. Making her way out of the facility, she traveled as far as her injuries would take her before she finally collapsed. Abandoned somewhere in the Middle East, Havana was found by some rogues and sent to a hospital where she spent several weeks in recuperation. Waking up she found herself in a small city in the Middle East and completely healed from the wounds that Rustam left for her. She was prepared to leave and return to the States however found her stay prolonged because of a small terrorist attack on the city.
Forced into hiding with the rest of the city's populace, Havana decided that the only way she would be able to leave this place was if she fought back. So she joined a resistance terrorist force and went deep underground becoming a part of modern terrorist activities. Ironically taking up a task that she had originally fought against.
Havana performed her activities for a few months until finally she returned to the States intent on working for the Suicide Squad once again. However, Havana backed down on her reenlistment because she discovered that Amanda Waller was the only lead operative and that Sgt. Rock had left the Suicide Squad. Havana returned to her former job as an intelligence specialist on super criminals, working with a small faction of the CIA.
Eventually though, she began to grow tired of her current occupation and once again sought out the Suicide Squad.

Personality: Havana is a pearl hidden inside the rough outer layer of a shell, that's just to put it simply. She's a bit harsh in her choice of words and makes no attempt at being discrete when making a comment (or criticism). Normally though, Havana is a rather calm and collected person who often walks around with an air of purpose surrounding her. She hates to just stand around and lallygag, and when she is put in situations when she has nothing to do, she will sit down and read or fun something productive to do. Her whole life revolves around working and pretty much nothing else.
Havana is distant and as stated before really buries herself in her work. It's usually the only excuse she has to stray away from small talk or personal conversations. She doesn't talk to much about anything so it's rare to find yourself in an “actual” conversation with Havana. However when you do actually get into one, it's usually a thought provoking or insightful one. She never knows any intention of getting close with anybody and that's usually because she doesn't think that's possible for someone like her. Being an orphan sort of reminds her of that fact every day.
Havana has a tough outer shell that has its rough edges, but that's only exposed when she is provoked or pushed to that limit, and believe it, she can be pretty nasty when she's pushed to the brink.
Inside though she's a rather sweet person who does have a heart and who is willing to sacrifice her own life to save someone that she cares deeply about, or sometimes just the sake of the mission. She's a bit empathetic towards people who are in her situation or who have been neglected and reaching a helping hand out to anybody who really needs it. Despite her career choice she does have a pretty beautiful soul deep down inside, but that's not really something anyone should know.

"The numbers?"
With one hand leaning on the silver table, Havanna looked sternly at a man whose face was beet red, eyes livid and his hair soaked through. He glared at her, then spit onto her foot. He missed, but a glob of mucus landed right in front of Havanna. Her face scrunched in disgust and she looked at the two men who stood at either side of her prisoner.
"Take him down."
With those words, the two men tipped the prisoner's chair backward then placed a towel over his head and finally began to pour water over his face. Muffled screams were heard under the towel as the men was drowned and suffocated with the combination of water and the towel covering his face. Havana waited a few moments, ignoring his gurgled cries then motioned to the men to stop. They pushed the chair back upright and ripped the towel off his face.
"The numbers."
This time she was met with laughter and the man exposed his semi-toothless grin as he stared at her, challenging her. Sighing, Havana took out a switch blade and flipped the long metal blade out. The man stared at her, a little bit of fright showing in his eyes.
"Alright Blake... I'm pretty much done taking it easy on you."
Havana said, moving off the table and toward the man. She ran her finger of the blade, making sure that as she did so she drew some blood. Satisfied with that, she looked to Blake and began to trace her blade over each one of his digits.
"I've gotta tell you though... I have all day. You? At this rate - not so much."
She smiled coyly, finally deciding on a finger and preparing to slice off the tip of his middle finger.

Powers
Known Powers: None
Known Abilities:
- Free Style Combat: Trained (but not yet a master) in various forms of Martial Arts, Havana combines what she does know and actually applies it in combat. She basically freestyles when she fights, analyzing her opponent and their moves and pulling different techniques to counter her opponent's attack. Her fighting styles are a combination of kick-boxing, Aiki-Jujustsu, Bando, Hapkido, Karate, and Capoeira.
- Marksmanship: Havana does not claim to be the best at anything, but she knows that she is good enough to get the job done. Her marksmanship skills are actually pretty good for someone who is considered to be “average”. She's able to watch her opponents and fire based on where she “knows” where they are going as well as evading projectiles that are thrown at her. Give her a weapon that she is good at and Havana is more than likely to get the shot.
- Acrobatics: A young athlete since she was young, Havana has trained in acrobatics, strengthening her core muscles and building her equilibrium to allow her to maneuver her body unlike other people. Her acrobatic skill givers her agility that allows her to evade assaults as well as move in quickly for a kill when necessary.
- Athlete: Being a member of an elite government covert team is physically demanding. This is something that Havana has come to terms with, so she keeps her body in good condition. Aside from looking great, the benefits allows Havana to be physically prepared for almost anything, she's a runner, swimmer, and jumper, so her body won't fail her in the midst of a mission. Of course that's unless other factors cause her body to give up on her.
- Weapons Specialist: A scholar at heart, Havana has used her own academic skills to understand the world of weaponry. She knows her way around most weapons and although not a superior expert, Havana can handle anything quite well.
- Explosives Specialist: When things get tough, some things need to go BANG!, or maybe BOOM. Whatever sound it makes, Havana can put together the device that can make it. She knows enough to make one from scratch, as well as work a rather complicated one and sometimes even defuse a bomb.
- Infiltration, and Espionage expert: Getting into top secret bases, hideouts and facilities is a must have talent when you're part of the Suicide Squad. World renowned criminals are pretty good at things like this already, this was something that Havana herself had to learn overtime. By this time however she's capable of covering her tracks, hiding her true identity and getting into really tight places when necessary. A fine actress and pleasantly cool when in the heat of the game, Havana can make sure she gets into anywhere she wants, when she wants, and gets out with the information that she needed.
- Communications and computer Specialist: One of her specialties as a Suicide Squad member is her computer interface and communication skills. During most missions, Havana will usually be the one behind a computer relaying all messages and information to every member on the team. With superb organizational skills and a thorough computer understanding Havana would be almost as good as “computer geeks” like Oracle or the Calculator if she applied her skills more often. Not only can she man the devices, but she can also perform repairs and slight modifications to certain electronic devices.
- Education: Despite being an orphan, Havana took advantage of every education opportunity that came her way. In college she double majored in Computer Sciences and Political Science, and minored in different language courses. She's got quite the education under her belt and although not a genius she knows enough to uphold an interesting conversation. Mentally she's not a push over so don't even try to tread on her when it comes to the battle of the minds.
- Intelligence and Scholar: Havana knows almost everything and anything about any renowned criminal out there. She's been stuck in a library full of entire texts about criminals and she has had her moments where she has just sat down and read all this information. In addition as a recruiter for the Suicide Squad she needs to gather the information needed to pick out criminals for the team. So when it comes to Lex Luthor's criminal record, or the Joker's last murder spree Havana would most likely already know.
- Multilingual: Taking multiple languages in school and traveling around the world after her college career, Havana naturally picked up a diverse set of languages which came handy for her in later career as a Suicide Squad member. Fluent in Spanish, Italian, Chinese (mandarin), Arabian, and Hebrew.
- Piloting and Driving: Usually Havana is the person who is away from all the action, at least that's how it used to be when she was a member of Sergeant Rock's Suicide Member team. She's a capable pilot and can man any land vehicle. This enables her to get to her team mates in places that vehicles rarely pass through or perform a grand getaway with her team sitting cozily in the back.
- Command: Naturally, Havana is a very dominating person and that type of attitude shows in her personality and in her very presence. When the going gets rough, Havana is sure to take command of things and make sure that everyone recognizes her. That's usually a hard feat to accomplish when working with criminals, but every now and then Havana manages to do it. As a leader she has enough self motivation and drive to get her to the top. It's a bit intimidating to say the least, when Havana walks into the room, but amongst a small crowd her presence is one that demands respect.
- Willpower: With the upbringing that Havana has had, it brings one to wonder how she stands strong and prevents herself from falling or breaking down. She's a strong woman, independent and hot headed and allows herself to push through any situation or obstacle that happens to appear in her way. She's a valiant fighter and won't back down until she can recognize that she has been defeated. Her will to live and to be something greater allows her to get out of bed every morning and strive to work harder each and every day.
Strength Level: Athletic
Weaknesses:
- Human: Havana knows just how vulnerable she is. After her near death experience with Rustam, she's completely aware of the fact that unlike other heroes and villains out there she can and will bleed. After all, there is only so much that technology and equipment can do to stop a bullet, to prevent poison from entering her body and to prevent someone from breaking her neck or completely dismembering her.
- Amanda Waller: Suffering from a love-hate relationship with her biological mother, there will be times when Havana will completely resent here, be devoid of all emotion for her, or otherwise feel some sort of “love” for her. Her emotions towards her mother perplex her, and it's touchy subject even for someone as hard as her. Havana can't be put in the same room with her mother, even if it's just business because deep down inside just being in the presence of her mother bothers her so much. Havana's feelings for her mother constantly fluctuate, but she has enough love for her to sacrifice herself for her, and at other instances to rid of her. It's complicated, and Havana knows so she stays away from the subject and person entirely.
- Suicide Squad: Being part of a group called the “Suicide Squad” suggests enough toward what one would expect from the job. Every mission is literally a suicide one, and working with the world's top class villains and criminals does not make the job any safer. When you're in a group with people who solely look out for themselves and undertakes missions that could very well mean the end of you well, you're not really signing up to live for a long time. Although the benefits are great, the job itself is literally (for the lack of better terms) life threatening.
- Adopted Child Syndrome: Being an Orphan who was never actually adopted does scar someone. First Havana was abandoned by her own mother, then she realized that no one ever wanted to take her to a real home and all the emotion that stirred from that really hurt her inside. She's not a big softy as most people know, but inside she's hurt and a part of her feels worthless because no one wanted her. Another part cannot manage to get close to anybody for fear of being deserted and she constantly strives to prove to others that she is in fact someone worthy, someone that could be genuinely loved.
Misc (optional)
Equipment: Havana's equipment will vary depending on the mission that she is on. The Suicide Squad usually assigns certain pieces or devices to its members before they go out to perform their duty and these pieces are at most times useful. Not singlehandedly good at any specific piece of equipment, Havana usually knows enough and is formally briefed on missions beforehand.
- Communication Ear Plugs: Standard Suicide Squad equipment, they are basically small earplugs that comfortably fit into the ears (of course) and allows every member to communicate from anywhere around the globe (thanks to the United States government and the money put into this project).
- Standard Infiltration Kit: This is nothing too fancy, it's just a small kit that contains all the various tools needed in certain infiltration situations.
- Universal Tool: The universal tool carried by Havana is an incredibly useful device, only 9 inches long and weighing 3.2 lbs. This multi-function device is a single reinforced canister that doubles as a hammer. Within it is are powered tool sources in which various tool attachments (screwdriver heads, picks, etc), pliers, wire cutters and strippers, etc. In addition to these more mundane tools, it contains an EPROM reader/writer, a USB jack, electronic probes, an oscilloscope with vector scope display, taps, jumper cables, a broadband/HDTV jack, a multi-line analyzer, a CPU breakout box, and a RS-232 logic-controlled breakout box.
- Laptop: A standard laptop used by Havana to help her hack or communicate and display information to the other Suicide Squad members. It's heavy duty and built to last through wear and tear. Most of her important files and access to authorized information is hidden within the laptop. Of course, the laptop is password protected, just to give any hackers a run for their money.
Transportation: Havana's mode of transportation will vary.
Weapons: Havana's weapons will vary, but she mostly specializes in handguns, sub-machine guns and sniper rifles.
