BEHAVIOR PROFILE Koriand'r possesses the traits of Tamaran's highly sensuous culture, she's inquisitive, enlightened and very insightful about life and finds no reason to stress or worry about anything. She lives by the standards of a typical Tamaranian lifestyle and is extremely care free. Koriand'r is kind and trusting always gracious to newcomers or friends and always willing to help when they are in need. Her inquisitive behavior and attitude makes her a very curious individual. Despite her kind demeanor, one must remember that Koriand'r was raised a warrior. She has the heart and pride of a fighter and will go into battle fearless – hoping to protect those she cares for through her actions. Able to drop her sweeter nature should she feel herself or her friends threatened, Kori is known to be a fierce combatant, and often needs reminding to reign herself in. Koriand'r sticks true to her own values and the traits that she learned during her time as a Tamaranian. She is both fearsone and compassionate, a loving creature willing to show care to all those about her, so long as they do not betray or threaten her friends and values. She's loyal and trusting towards her friends and companions and holds a very spiritual side that allows her to remain in a good mood most, if not all times. Koriand'r has, and always will be a valuable member of the Titans or any team she is in, because of her loyalty, kindness, and fierce demeanour. DOCUMENTED HISTORY Tamaran's Princess Koriand'r was the second of three children. Her older sister, Komand'r was the next in the line of succession, but she was crippled by a childhood illness that robbed her of her natural Tamareanian ability to convert ultraviolet light in to flight energy, so she was deemed not worthy to be queen and the succession fell to Koriand'r. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warlords of Okaara, the bitter Komand'r ran off, allying herself with the Citadel. They used Komand'r's information to successfully invade the planet Tamaran. King Myand'r turned Koriand'r over to the Citadel to ensure peace. Koriand'r endured six years of torture until she and Komand'r were both released for experimentation by the Psions. The Psions, who are largely sadistic scientists, performed a deadly experiment on both of the sisters to see just how much energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. During the procedure, Komand'r's forces attacked the Psion ship to rescue her and while the Psions were distracted, Kory broke free with the starbolts, destructive blasts of solar energy, a result of the experimentation. Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. However, far from grateful, Komand'r struck her sister down with the same-much stronger- power and had her restrained for later execution. Koriand'r escaped and found her way to Earth with the help of the Teen Titans. She chose to remain with the team and took the name Starfire, and quickly formed a romantic relationship with Dick Grayson, then - as Robin - the leader of the team. Kory is regarded as extremely physically attractive even by the standards of the superhero. She also displays the traits of Tamaran's highly sensuous culture, coupled with a no nonsense warrior attitude. For a time, Kory had a career as a fashion model. She has been married twice, both times to Tamaranean men: once to the prince Karras to seal a peace treaty, and once to General Phy'zzon for love. Both of her husbands died in battle. She almost married Dick, but their wedding was interrupted by Raven, who had followed in the steps of her father, the demon Trigon. Raven murdered the priest after he pronounced Dick and Kory husband and wife. The relationship was already on unsteady ground, with Kory fearing that Dick was rushing into marriage, and also being concerned by the anti-alien sentiments that sprang up in response to the news of the impending nuptials. Starfire has served as mentor/teacher to the latest roster of Titans, and also began serving with the Outsiders. Starfire was stranded on a paradise-like planet with fellow heroes Animal Man and Adam Strange after the battle with Alexander Luthor, Jr. and Superboy-Prime. After several weeks, Adam was able to get his spaceship working, and they departed for Earth. Their ship, however, was attacked by Devilance, who they had encountered on the planet and who had pursued them into space. Lobo appeared just in time to destroy Devilance, and after a some negotiation, agreed to help them out. When it was believed that Animal Man had perished in battle against Lady Styx, Starfire took it upon herself to bring his jacket back to his surviving family on Earth. Upon reaching Earth, however, she quickly discovered that Animal Man was still alive. Titans Together After the apparent defeat of Lady Styx, Starfire once again returned back to Animal Man's home, where she was recovering from her recent adventures and regaining control of her returned powers. One afternoon, while sunbathing, she and Animal Man's son were attacked by a water demon in Buddy's swimming pool. Meanwhile, her old Titan teammates had also been attacked by assorted demonic entities. This led to Starfire, Nightwing, Troia, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, Flash, and Red Arrow, to reassemble as a team, when they realized that the attacks are the result of a resurrected Trigon and his newly discovered three sons. While investigating, the Titans began to experience unexplained mood-shifts. For Starfire and Nightwing, they were overwhelmed by lust, and ended up having abrupt sex in the middle of their investigation. Soon after, the team met up in New York's Central Park, where they attempted to recover from these mood-shifts and realize that each shift coincided with one of the seven deadly sins. The team was then approached by the Sons of Trigon. They battled the villainous prodigy, and drove them away. Starfire and Nightwing then discuss their actions while under the influence of Trigon's sons. While Nightwing shows hints at wanting to renew their relationship, Starfire questions his commitment to the relationship and goes so far as to ask Nightwing whether or not he truly still loves her. Nightwing to his own surprise and reluctance admits he does not, leading to them for now leaving their reunion in doubt. Since then, it has been clearly stated that Dick has moved on, though Kory stays true to her Tamaranian culture and still loves him. Most recently, she has been captured and turned into a Justifier, as seen in Final Crisis: Resist. She has since been freed. Although the loss of control she gathered from the Justifier helmet distressed her severely, causing her to lash out at anyone remotely looking like they are wearing one of the helmets. She was more than happy to destroy a warehouse full of them when Mister Terrific offered her and Cyborg to destroy them. After a stint with a psychiatrist (instead of talking to Donna, which troubled her to no end), and a subsequent denial of joining the Justice League, she is left none the healthier. Blackest Night Most recently during Hero's Day, a time when the heroes of the DC universe join together in remembrance of dead comrades, Starfire and the Titans were attacked by Black Lantern versions of their fallen teammates. During the battle, Starfire and Cyborg were subjected to a psychic attack by the Black Lantern Omen, putting them both in a euphoric state as they experienced their greatest desires. For Starfire, her greatest desire came in the form of her marrying Dick Grayson (indicating that she is still deeply in love with him). Luckily, both she and Cyborg were rescued by Beast Boy and with their attackers eventually defeated by Dove, Starfire and the Titans prepared to face the Black Lanterns head on. Justice League Kory was recently invited to join Kimyo Hoshi's new Justice League by Donna Troy. She joined the team briefly and left a note to Dick explaining why. She then joined the R.E.B.E.L.S. and returned to where Tamaran used to be, to find that it had mysteriously returned.[1] She had casual relations with Captain Comet, who clearly felt more for her than her for him. Memories Lost Due to an unknown cause, Starfire lost many of her memories following her relationship with Comet. Many of the things she knew of became strange to her, and she forgot the people she loved and the teams she had once served. Remaining on Earth, looking for the answers to questions she didn't even know how to ask, she began uncovering snippets of her history. It was Raven, her former friend and team mate who brought Kori's memories back to her – using magic to restore those broken shards that held nothing but joy – leaving the darker and more twisted ones from her mind. Xenophobia Thanks to the regaining parts of her shattered psyche, Starfire has returned to her former superhero lifestyle. Having forgotten about previous relationships, her feelings are her own, her love something to be earned rather than just given. She feels this step has made her a stronger person- as she is no longer clinging to the shadowed past, but looking toward a hopefully brighter future. Things have not started well though, as anti-alien sentiment grips many of Earth's civilizations, and despite Kori's attempts at aiding humanity, she has been, on a number of occasions, targeted by xenophobic groups hoping to drive her off world – or indeed – take her hostage for some other devious purpose. POWERS AND ABILITIES KNOWN POWERS:Koriand'r's Tamaranean heritage allows her to absorb solar energy and convert it to the power of flight. The Psio'sn experiments gave her the destructive Starbolt force. Starfire is also incredibly strong, as powerful as a dozen Earth men. She is a skilled warrior whose powers and emotional intensity make her a fearsome foe.

A gentle breeze kissed her face, brushed her lips and tangled her long, auburn locks, sweeping them out behind her like an open fan, no doubt an impressive sight to any that may have happened glance upward in her direction. Flames licked about her form-fitting attire, streaking the hair that billowed about her. Her costume clung to her curves, the light of the fire shadowing her oddly in the half-light. The orange hue to her skin was barely visible in the dark. Yet despite that, despite the tight clothing, suspended in flight and standing on nothing but the sky, Koriand'r felt light, felt free. She breathed deeply, filling her lungs with the frosty air, and inhaled until she felt fit to burst. Then came an exhale, more a contented sigh than anything else. Watching the traffic and offices below her, she felt like she believed she should – a hero -, and she felt elation surge through her, warming her body and her heart despite the chill wind. Earth; her new home. A world away from her destroyed home planet of Tamaran, a society so new to her, a place so different that she was still adapting to her new environment, coming to terms with difficult social decorums and the ideals of her new family; her team mates. In her first first year in a foreign land she been drafted into the Teen Titans, a band of heroes who did their all to protect the innocent of the world. Since then, she had made bonds, surprisingly reunited with members of her own race, family she thought long dead, and been tutored in the art of heroics. She had studied humanity, learned new skills to add to her already impressive repertoire. But she did still not fully feel like one of them. As much as the Titans cared for her, made her feel welcome, there were times she felt detached – like she had not adjusted to the conventions that they lived by. She was still the outsider – an off-worlder who was at times treated more like a child, like a threat, than like an equal. Earthlings had a saying – 'It's like you're from outer spacec.' It was used by humans to suggest other humans were strange, or as her friends had explained to her – 'out of touch.' They had no idea how accurate their analogy was. Even with all her progress, she was still seen as the odd one out, the misfit – and recent anti-alien propaganda had only made things worse. It was, indeed, the reason she had left the Tower to venture into the night. There were times that even the socially extroverted Tamaranian needed to escape – needed to get away from those she knew in order reflect – spend time alone in her own world. She had to mourn for her losses and think about what it was she could do to change her future. The fresh air helped calm her, clear her head, spark new ideas. Yet that evening, nothing had come to her...She had tried hovering over Metropolis, over San Francisco, and over New York. Each city was so different – but none held the answers she was so desperately seeking. Now, it was Gotham she looked out over – dark, gothic and twisted, the least welcoming of all the places she had visited that evening – but she hoped it's difference would herald a change in the night's failure. It was a screech that interrupted her silent reverie, the sound of tyres skidding on concrete, metal grating against metal. Her year with the Titans had honed what she liked to call her heroic senses, and the slightest sound of danger caught her attention. Starfire's eyes widened, focusing instantly on the source of the sound, their enhanced vision easily able to pick up a swerving car a number of miles from where she hovered. Clearly, someone had braked hard to avoid oncoming traffic. However, they had been moving at a speed too great to completely halt, and now their vehicle skidded wildly, swerving toward the pavement, towards actual people. Acting instantly, forgetting her own safety, just as Dick and Raven did when they patrolled, she plummeted toward the moving car, accelerating at impossible speeds. Her hair whipped around her, her lithe body streamlined, arms held out before her as if she were diving, doing everything she could to move faster. She had to get ahead of the car. The flames in her hair streaked the sky behind her, burning her rapid descent into the darkness. She pushed her body to its limits. The sound barrier had long since been broken, a deafening 'boom' echoing behind her plummeting form, and in her peripheral vision, she saw the humans she raced to save cover their ears, wincing. Yet she had no time to worry about the possible discomfort caused to their hearing. Their lives where what were important, and they would lose them if the approaching vehicle collided with them. She hit the ground at high speed, a somewhat ungraceful landing, yet the momentum caused her to roll, and she was quickly back on her feet. In the blink of an eye, she was in front of the oncoming vehicle, putting herself between it and the screaming people about her. It was but inches away. Ducking into a crouch, she held her arms up, palms straight, and braced herself by turning her shoulder slightly. If she could take all the impact, if she could take the full force of the car, if she could make it near stationary, she'd give those around her a chance at life. She would have saved them from death. She would be a hero, and they might see her as a saviour – not an orange being to be gawked at and spoken about in hushed voices. The princess known as Koriand'r braced herself - the heroine known as Starfire waited for the force to hit her...waited to take the force of the still speeding vehicle against her lithe form. It hit her with a sickening crunch, the front of the car contorting possibly about her unbreakable form, glass shattering, metal shrieking, engine roaring. She barely blinked. subject examined by Doctor Cyber | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;] K O R I A N D ' R |
