She has no teeth in her human form(same as her true form) she does however have a tongue and rarely moves her lavender purple lips when she speaks(to hide the fact that she has no teeth). BEHAVIOR PROFILE Antisocial: Aislinn prefers to be alone and prefers to do things on her own terms and usually that involves her doing things solo and keeping people at arms length or further away from her. She likes being alone but she enjoys company, usually company that she knows and trusts. If it’s a stranger she won’t want them around for long and she’ll most likely try and get them to leave her alone, which doesn’t usually work, in fact it rarely ever does. Soft-spoken and quiet: Aislinn is soft-spoken and very quiet. She never raises her voice when she speaks; she only speaks in mumbles, grumbles or speaks in a soft tone of voice, one where others have to strain their hearing just to hear her when she speaks or tell her to repeat herself which is something she really dislikes doing, she hates having to repeat herself because humans and other species have such a hard time hearing her, it just makes her not want to speak. She is a very quiet individual and she likes listening to others rather than speak in a conversation. She’d much rather listen to others instead of being one who contributes to the conversation. She has never raised her voice at all and really she seems to be unable to raise her voice to a yell or a scream, even if she’s in danger of losing her life or has been told to yell or scream for help, she just can’t bring herself to do it, it’s not that she doesn’t know how to, it’s just that she literally can’t yell or scream or be loud in general. Her race is naturally soft-spoken(at least to human, other species and other alien ears it is), because to them, speaking in another language has never been needed before and to others of their race they speak loud and clear. Suspicious and guarded: She regards everyone with suspicion especially those she has just met, she trusts her instinct and more importantly her gut, if she feels that someone can’t be trusted or if she gets a funny feeling then she won’t drop her guard or drop her suspiciousness of someone. She even still be suspicious of those she has known for a while, even her friends(and teammates). Aislinn is guarded and she doesn’t fully drop her guard, even when she’s around her friends or completely safe. She doesn’t want to be caught in a vulnerable position again and she also doesn’t want to lose her freedom either. Speed Talking: Aislinn’s race, the Voltriaians converse with rapid talking. Speaking rapidly is easy for them because they’re so used to moving at lightning speeds to do things, slowing down is not something they are used to or can do on a whim. Aislinn tends to switch to speed talking on accident or when she’s feeling happy, excited, foolish, reckless, accomplished, uneasy, shy, upset, annoyed or angered at someone, something or about something, usually when she gets like this only a speedster can understand her rapid talking or you’ll have to get her to slow her talking down so that she can be understood. Impatient: Voltriaians are so used to moving at lightning speeds to do things, slowing down is not something they are used to or can do on a whim. Aislinn like her race is impatient and has a hard time standing, sitting or laying still without fidgeting, tapping her foot, or fingers, anything, she just has to move and waste her pent up energy in any way she can. She has to literally overexert herself if she plans on getting any sleep at night or even during the day. Aislinn does not like waiting around for orders, in fact she doesn’t like waiting at all. Waiting just makes her nervous and fidgety she’d much rather be told to do something before she can think too much on the subject and then want to back out of it. She’d much rather just go in and get something done quickly so that she doesn’t over think herself or start to second guess herself. She can not stand being in small rooms or chained down and unable to move, it drives her crazy. Quick thinking and reckless: Aislinn is quick thinking but doesn’t always think about situations before she goes charging into them, thus making a bigger mess instead of actually helping like she intends to. Aislinn is reckless often not thinking of the dangers that she’s putting herself into until after she does it and realizes how stupid she was for doing it. Willful and determined: Aislinn has a very strong will and is very determined so once she sets her mind to something there is not changing it. Nothing will change her mind on what she decided to do, no matter how stupid, reckless or suicidal her plan or idea just so happens to be. Childish: Well Aislinn is a child, or at least still considered one and even mistaken for one because of her height. Aislinn isn’t really childish but there are times she can be. Aislinn can be childish especially when it comes to her being hungry, when she has to repeat herself to others or when it comes to animals, as she has never seen such creatures before. So whenever she sees an animal she automatically wants to know more about it and to pet said animal just to know what the animal feels like. She does not like being called a child just because she looks like one, when she’s called one she’ll get mad or annoyed at that person who regarded her as such. Earning trust and betrayal: Earning Aislinn’s trust isn’t that hard to gain but at the same time she isn’t too trusting either. So gaining her trust isn’t easy but it’s not too hard either. Aislinn is very easily won over so long as she is treated kindly and with respect. If she is betrayed then gaining her trust back will not happen, she’ll never trust you again, she may forgive you and even rekindle that friendship but she will never trust you again. Anger: Unlike most people, Aislinn does not raise her voice when she gets annoyed or angry, it lowers in tone and pitch, becomes nothing more than a mere whisper or a very soft and holds a threatening, deadly edge to it. Which makes her more threatening, unpredictable and deadly or it can get her into trouble. Well it isn’t like she needs to worry about her anger, she has a good control over her anger and usually just bottles up her anger but the tall-tell signs of anger or annoyance would be when sparks of electricity jump off her skin in tiny sparks(at least in her human form). DOCUMENTED HISTORY Aislinn was born in a galaxy far, far, far away from Earth’s galaxy. She was the first and only daughter born to Voltria(Vol-tri-ah)’s famous outlaws, Tesla, her father and Aisha, her mother. However there were complications and her mother died moments after her daughter’s birth and to make matters worse for her father, Aislinn was born sick from an electrical overload and being too young to discharge energy or even have the extra energy taken from her, Tesla knew that she wouldn’t survive the night, so he made the hardest decision a father would ever make. He chose the fate of his only daughter; he chose a mercy killing, ordering his trusted guard to get rid of the newborn. Tesla kissed his daughter’s forehead all within the precious nanoseconds it took for Tesla’s trusted bodyguard Shockra, to come and leave with the sickly newborn. The bodyguard left the estate, the estate’s grounds and even the town that was connected to the estate grounds. The bodyguard moved onto the lower class cities of Voltria, but instead of killing the newborn, like she had been told to, she took the child to an orphanage that her old friend, Rai ran and waited for her to open the door, Rai opened the door and was shocked to find her friend waiting for her with a sick sparkling in her grasp, the two exchanged a hurried conversation before Rai took the baby from Shockra before the bodyguard, Shockra left. Going back to the estate to tell her Lord that she had completed his task but kept silent about what she had done and told her lord that she had completed the task he had given her. It was then that Tesla and his guards left the planet of Voltria in order to avoid being arrested and charged for the crimes he committed. Tesla left his spaceship but still kept close to the planet of Voltria but still far enough away that he wouldn’t be caught by the Enforcers who were looking for him. However fate was on little Aislinn’s side when she survived not only the night but the first seven years of her life(and during the last three years of those six years, her horrible sight was discovered and corrected with special goggles). She grew up happy in that orphanage; she made friends and kept them for a little while, at least until a month later. Everything took a turn for the worst when the orphanage was attacked by a gang and everyone was killed, Aislinn however survived by fleeing from the scene and managed to get away with her life. Aislinn lived on the streets for a week and almost died because of it. She collapsed in an alleyway and she awoke to the taste electricity on her tongue. She opened her eyes to find herself not in the alleyway but in a different place, to be honest she couldn’t even tell where she was. She was faced with two older, blue Voltriaians(Vol-tri-ah-I-ah-hn) strangers, their first meeting wasn’t very good but in the end she was given a place to stay and was offered a place in their group. The two, Voltage and Sparky told her to create an alias and stick to it, use it whenever her name was asked for, they also taught her how to survive, how to steal, how to get away from the cops and child services, how to fight even if it was just simple street fighting and most importantly how to use her natural electrokinesis. The twins taught her much but they abandoned her eleven months later, to fend for herself. Why? Aislinn, who was under the alias Surge never learned that reason. Aislinn “Surge” lived on the streets and survived on her own and lived in most isolation, she rarely if ever spoke another word to anyone and pretty much went silent for the next five years of her life. However the isolation just so happened to be her downfall in the end. Since she wasn’t in a group or with another person it made the eleven year old girl the perfect target. She was kidnapped so suddenly, shorted out by a substance that was never seen on Voltria but every man, woman and child knew what the substance was, it was a weakness to them, it could subdue them, and it was one of their greatest weaknesses. Water. How these strangers managed to get here, she found out that they got here by spaceship, which was exactly where she was headed. She was thrown into a cell with a rubber collar around her neck along with rubber handcuffs. These strangers were going all out just to contain her and more importantly, they knew the Voltriaians weaknesses. How in the world would someone know that? And how in the world did they get the water? She soon found out why, or rather she met the reason why. She met with the man responsible for her capture, a mad scientist and inventor known as Tesla also a purple and electric blue eyed Voltriaian. Tesla was quite pleased that he had another test subject. He dryly commented that he hoped that Aislinn would last longer than the pair of twins and others he had snatched up during those five years, eleven months and three hundred thirty five days. And despite herself Aislinn shivered, if her two older, stronger friends died, then what were the chances that she wouldn’t follow the same fate they(and all those strangers) had? Aislinn did survive; she survived the beatings, the torture, the attempted drownings, the experimentation and the starvation. It made her tougher to torture methods, it made her stronger, more resilient. Aislinn survived only through her will and determination to not die. Tesla tested how long she could stand an electrical overload without dying; she lasted a week before having to discharge all the extra electricity and ended up blowing up both the computer and the discharger machine with how much power she put into it. Tesla was impressed her power and her willpower. He also had tested her about her level of power when she wasn’t overloaded on electricity and how much electricity she could discharge when she was deprived of nourishment. Some time later Tesla even had her testing his inventions, some were good and worked, others didn’t and some even exploded when she used them. However just as Tesla and Aislinn worked together, Tesla suddenly stopped treating her like his test subject and they grew closer, not as slave and master but as apprentice and mentor. Tesla even had his guards remove her rubber cuffs and the rubber collar and he gave her a choice, she was free to leave if she wished but Aislinn made no such move to leave. In that moment when she chose to stay with him, the beatings, attempted drownings, experiments and torture stopped completely. Why he just abruptly stopped all of it, she didn’t learn that until much later. During the third year she was his willing apprentice and assistant, she happily assisted him in anything and everything that he was doing and he in turn stopped seeing her as a slave(although he had stopped seeing her as a slave long before the third year started, but he couldn't let her leave either. He needed... no loved her too much to let her go.) and saw her as something more, a daughter perhaps? He still never allowed her to leave the spaceship(which was fine, she didn't want to leave anyway) and started teaching her and improved her limited education. He also taught her different ways to harvest electricity, even taught her to how to fight, about first aid and when he learned that she was an artist, let her have free rein in his art room. On her fourth year, her life as a slave had changed completely and she was free to do as she wished but still she stayed with Tesla and the reason for that she did not know, it was what her Spark Core told her to do. She didn’t fear him… at least not anymore, so why should she leave? Tesla had modified her goggles and made her a box full of spares and also ended up making a size-changing hoverboard which would only respond to Aislinn’s electrical wave-link and it could follow or track her electrical wave link even when she is unconscious or in need of some help(within reason, it won’t fight for her but it will save her from drowning, etc). Tesla even taught her how to ride it and how to do some tricks on it. However not even two months later they were discovered by the G.P.A.O. who were quick to storm Tesla’s spaceship and they were opening fire on anyone that moved, even those that weren’t even armed. Tesla furious at G.P.A.O for barging in and killing his people set the self destruction timer, grabbed Aislinn's sketchbook, box of art supplies, the hoverboard and the box of extra goggles and stuffed both into a bag which he held onto and went in search of Aislinn, who hadn’t been hard to find, since she was looking for him. Tesla snatched up Aislinn’s wrist and dragged her to the hanger where the escape pods were, he hugged her briefly, whispering into her ear that he was her father and kissed her on the forehead before he shoved the shell-shocked fifteen year old into the small pod along with the bag and sealed and locked it shut behind her. Tesla typed in the coordinates for the beautiful looking plant called ‘Earth’ and punched the lunch button. Launching Aislinn into space just as G.P.A.O barged into the hanger and surrounded him. With his back against the wall Tesla laughed gleefully before smirking dangerously. His parting words were “I’ll see you all in Hell!” just before the spaceship exploded in a massive fireball. Aislinn hasn’t managed to cope with learning that Tesla was her father, it would take time for everything to sink in and for her to understand and accept it. Her escape pod didn’t crash land on Earth, it burnt up in the Earth’s atmosphere(luckily that didn’t happen to the hoverboard and bag) but Aislinn lucky survived being burned to a crisp and managed to get safely into Earth’s gravity thanks to her father’s… no her hoverboard. She also had successfully disguised herself as a human, or at least as much as a human as she was able to look like. She has been on Earth for a few days and has returned back to her life as a thief in order to survive by eating electricity from the Earthlings electrical devices and the electricity they generate. It’s safe to say she has been the cause of a few accidental(or non-accidental) power outages during her uninvited stay on Earth. POWERS AND ABILITIES KNOWN POWERS: Aislinn is a lightning alien who has taken on the appearance of a human(or at least as much of a human appearance as she is able).
KNOWN ABILITIES:
STRENGTH LEVEL: Aislinn is not some super strong alien, at least not in her human form, she can lift something that is her own body weight over her head, but anything heavier than that, she won’t even be able to move it and lifting the thing would be impossible. In her true electric form she is much stronger than in her human form, especially if she absorbs electricity while in that form she’ll grow bigger and stronger depending on the electrical power intake, the stronger/longer the intake the stronger she becomes. WEAKNESSES:
*Note; Light blue coloring is when she’s in her electric form. PARAPHERNALIA EQUIPMENT: She does not wear a uniform(because her clothing just tend to merge into her skin when she turns into her electrical form and reform when she turns back into her human form(and it’s not like her true form has any revealing features about it, if one only glanced or looked at her, one would say the form is genderless, if not for her long hair giving it away that she is a girl). The only thing she specifically wears all the time and every time and never takes off are her specially made purple goggles that allow her to see clearly(the goggles even have night vision, thermal vision and even a mini camera installed in them) thus allowing her to see but the goggles also allow her to fight to her full potential(they even grow and work to fit her electrical form, the goggles turn into electrical energy just as her body and hair do). TRANSPORTATION: Who needs transportation when you can travel at the speed of lightning? She also has a size-changing purple hoverboard(which has magnetic foot(hand and body (which also means she can attach the board to her body and not have to worry about it falling off) sensors that react to her and keep her from falling off the board when she’s doing gravity defying tricks.) which is powered by her electricity(when she can’t(or is too tired) to travel at the speed of lightning), the board can reach the speed of light whether she be in her human form or her true form. WEAPONS: None. EXAMINATION RECORD ”Humans… sure talk slow.” Was the first thought that crossed through her mind as she sat on a fire escape and observed the human populace. She was used to the humans slow speech pattern so that wasn’t a problem; she could understand them just fine. It was her. Speaking slower and speaking the language itself that was difficult and hard for her. She was used to speaking in the human language but she wasn’t used to having to constantly repeat herself over and over because of how soft her voice was, to her it sounded louder than it was but to humans it sounded more like a mumble or grumble then an actual clear voice and that annoyed her more then being stuck on this unknown planet. Not being able to be heard properly the first time made her not want to repeat herself, it made her unwilling, as if to say ‘If you can’t hear me why should I bother to speak?!’. In her own language that is, speaking fast, with just the flow, hum, crackle or buzz of electricity and finally speaking with electrical communication was what she was used to. With electrical communication it could either require physical contact or none all that really matter was how to zap another Voltriaian in order to get one’s message across to either one or several others. With just the flow, crackle and/or buzz of electricity in order to get ones message across without having to rely on electrical communication or without having to rely on words at all, it was their way of silent talking. A frown appeared on her lips as she lifted her gaze from the humans below her to the large blaring sign directly across the street from where she sat high above the humans with her legs dangling through railings of the fire escape. The bright red sign was mocking her. Seriously! It was! Just looking at the electricity flowing sign caused hunger to claw at her empty belly. It wasn’t fair. Humans had no need for electricity; they didn’t survive off of it, not like she did. They just used it as a power source to power things for them. She couldn’t steal the electricity from the sign because then that would draw unwanted attention to herself and that wasn’t something she needed to deal with. Especially not with the humans and metahumans running around in funny colored costumes saying that they are heroes and heroines. You know the funny looking weirdoes who stop bad guys. Yes those funny looking weirdoes. She knew she couldn’t press her luck in staying around either one city; there was always a chance that she would get caught by those funny looking heroes and they’d stop her from taking the electricity. She rolled her eyes in annoyance. Seriously! Just WHO was she hurting by taking humanity’s precious electricity? No one ever died from a blackout! At least no human has. The Voltriaians on the other hand… a disaster like that could the end the lives of hundreds, thousands… and maybe even millions. A shiver ran down the girl’s spine at the thought. Her home… How would she ever get home? That was an answer she didn’t have. But she desperately wished she had one… Aislinn looked down at herself; she was wearing clothes that she had stolen from a clothing store somewhere in South Dakota. She was wearing a pale purple t-shirt with a far-too-big-for-her-small-frame peach pink sweater with a large black printed large feline on it; she heard the woman working there called it a tiger? She was practically swimming in the cozy stolen sweater, which covered her hands completely, she also wore grey sweatpants that were rolled up several times so that she didn’t trip on them and finally a pair of white, purple and silver tennis shoes, which were from the children’s section. She crossed her arms over her flat chest and huffed angrily to herself and kicked at the air. It wasn’t fair! She got up and stomped down the fire escape and dropped down instead of using the ladder, landing on her effortlessly on her feet, she walked out of the alleyway and merged with the crowd. She pulled one of the sweater sleeves up to reveal her clawed three fingered hand; the skin was white with a tint of lavender purple to it. There was no way she was human and she couldn’t make herself look more human because she didn’t look like a complete human in the first place. A long strand of lavender and electric blue tipped hair fell in front of her face and she blew it away in a fruitless gesture to make it go back into place. She was very well aware that she looked out of place among the humans, her hair was odd, she only had three fingers and three toes, pointed ears, she had no teeth, her skin was white with a lavender tint to it, her eyes were indigo with no irises or pupils and she wore goggles instead of eyeglasses. You couldn’t get any more eye catching then that. Aislinn adjusted the strap of her electric blue backpack which contained only her sketchbook, box of art supplies, shrunken hoverboard and her box of spare goggles. Suddenly a man walked passed her, holding a cellphone to his ear and talking into it, obviously conversing with someone. She didn’t care who but that man’s cell battery was going to die. She easily followed the man, making sure to keep quiet before she moved to walk beside the stranger. She could feel the electricity within the small device and could feel how charged it was. It was only half way charged but it was better than going hungry for another few hours or even another day. She twitched her fingers drawing in the electricity, it came out in a small barely noticeable stream of yellow electricity, the electricity would have been larger but she didn’t want to bring attention to what she was doing. Once the electricity stream touched her fingers, and she jerked her fingers downwards, pulling the rest of the electricity from the device and into her awaiting hand. With that done she didn’t another second and took off down the street, the man’s swearing ringing her ears as she took a sharp left and hid in yet another alleyway. Safe within the alleyway the child-looking teenager looked down at her hand and grinned as she felt the familiar electricity flowing her through her fingers, heard the soft hum of the electivity and could see the electricity within her grasp as she raised her hand and focused watching as the newly extracted electricity flowed from palm of her hand, the tiny sparks moving along her hand and gathering at the tip her index finger, forming into a small sphere as she put her finger close to her lips and opened her mouth slightly, just enough so that the electricity could travel from her finger into her mouth. The transfer took only nanoseconds but for her it was like heaven. The electricity on this planet tasted sweeter than any electricity she had eaten before. Her joy was short lived as soon as she had finished with that messily snack a sound reached her ears and she tensed up. She wasn’t alone anymore. "W-w-who's t-there?!" she squeaked in a feeble whisper, her words speeding up due to her fear. Her eyes wide in fear as her body shook slightly in nervousness as nervous energy surged through her body. Slowly she turned her head so that she could look over her shoulder… subject examined by Doctor Cyber | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;] S U R G E |
