The clatter of her gun sliding along the floor, wasn't much more than background noise, as her back hit the floor, her head hit the ground and she looked up in shock at the man who's face caught the light and she now had a very good look at him. Tobias Whales and he rumor had it he was trafficking girls from clubs. The pieces fitted themselves together nicely. It explained why Alice which was not her name, well probably wasn't...anyway back on track it was why that the younger woman popped up at the bar in the first place.
She hadn't originally seen Tobias, assuming he liked the attention of the girls as he was the one kidnapping them. Fingers curling into a fist, she knew better than to strike out, knowing she'd be hurt far worse, as Allista ran at Tobias and tried to bulldoze him, to keep him dropping a table on her, and probably breaking ever bone in her body, she was touched, in her field...her job, she was what stood between those and a promotion. It would be all too easy to get her out of the picture, and there was a failed attempt about three months ago, but no leads could come up as to who, it was someone on her team, it was just the matter of who...not that she'd had any proof.
As the table tumbled from Whales mighty hands she rolled to her right, and kept going as the pieces rained and broke not five feet from her. She crawled on her knees towards her gun it was just within reach, her fingers just about to curl around cold metal.
She turned her head dark brown strands in her eyes but she peered trough the light screen at the younger girl as she stabbed Tobias in the calf, and he'd tried to smash her body in with his foot.
Raising the weapon finger not yet on the trigger she lined up the sights, giving her a great large target. His back. She needed something for raven haired girl, she needed to know that she had the ok to open fire. The woman may have a back up plan...probably not, but she had to be sure.
I won't let you die...
Jacquelyn couldn't let another person die...not again...never again, not if she had the power to stop it.

[style= font-family: verdana; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 445px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12px] She was persistent and while that annoyed Allista she could also admire her valor. It wasn't every day that someone was willing to stick their head into a fight against 400 pounds of rippling muscle. Tobias Whale was pissed off to say the least and the incisions that she was creating through his $1000 suit and onto his albino skin was not helping the situation. Not that she was going to stop or anything like that - no that would be insane.
The time for small talk had long past and Allista was no longer in any mood to converse with the poor excuse of a human being. Instead, she continued to bath in her mindless rage when she suddenly realized that discourse of her actions. She was going further than just getting Tobias back into prison - no she actually wanted to see the man dead. While that was certainly something that would make her feel better, it wouldn't necessarily satisfy her. No, Tobias Whale needed to suffer for the rest of his life inside a prison cell where all his connections and funds would get him nowhere. She growled, kicking off the ground and landed into a three point stance in time to see Aviary rise from the ground, her fingers trained over her firearm and ready to fire.
In her experience, it would take at least five bullets to actually damage Tobias and while she was open to the die or opening fire she also understood that the commotion would be far too great for the club. Their fighting had caught some attention, but aside from a few curious party goers and the security personnel that were so obviously affiliated with the Great White Shark, no one truly knew what was going on. Allista's eyes hardened as she looked to Aviary, hoping that by expression alone it would be enough to send the message across: Stand Down.
They were all at a standstill now and Tobias was very much aware of his surroundings. He momentarily seethed with rage, but in noticing that the entire room was still he regained his composure and gracefully removed a purple hankerchief from his suit pocket and began to wipe the blood off his face.
"You know... you are really... you are such a bitch."
Tobias began, spitting into the rag and then tossing it into Allista's direction. She stepped back slightly watching the rag fall to the ground with a slight flutter. Wrinkling her nose she raised her gaze back to Tobias focusing on his small, beady eyes.
"You come here. Into MY place of business, pick a fight and now - now what are you going to do?"
Tobias asked with a grin on his face as he opened his arms out to show that he was not afraid. His mass seemed to become amplified as he did so, and the pointy shape of his head trembled as he began to laugh.
"I'm going to tell you what you're going to do. Because I know you don't want to create too big of a commotion. I also know you want to send me back to Belle Reve... but as you know, I'm not going to go willingly."
Tobias continued, his muscle flexing as he returned his arms to his sides and began to smooth out his white suit. The crisp material had been marred by the stain on his own blood and the look on Tobias' face as he smeared more blood onto his suit brought some satisfaction to Allista. Her body was tense and face taunt as she watched the man and monitored every single movement he made. He was right, somewhat - she didn't want her mission of vengeance to go too far and even so she didn't want to set the entire club aflame just to get this one man. It would look very bad, on her behalf at least. Tobias had something planned, and she was sure that plan entailed some sort of escape.
"We're going to revisit this, I'm going to walk out of here, buy myself a new suit and you and your friend can leave. We'll pretend this never happened and maybe in a day or two, you'll find me again and then you can try to capture me."
She blinked and her brows furrowed, this was not his entire plan yet and even so she was getting the short end of the stick here.
"The girls-"
Allista began, but was quickly cut off by Tobias' large hand raising in front of her face.
"The girls will go unharmed... if you follow my aforementioned procedure. You can have these girls, save them - whatever tickles your fancy, I can get more." The grin on his face brought Allista to grit her teeth slightly as he spoke, "You go down there, take care of the girls and I'll leave through the back door. That sounds fair right?"
He extended his hand for a shake, but Allista only stared at it.
"Come now... you know I am a business man of my word."
Tobias chuckled and stepped forward, placing a heavy hand on her shoulder as he began to walk past her. He held it there for only a moment as an unseen or heard agreement was shared between them. Allista could only sigh heavily as she allowed the one man - in the entire world - that she loathed with such intensity, walk right past her.

Aviary lowered her gun and slowly rose to her feet, her eyes glued to Tobias and she listened intently to his words as he spoke. She didn't relinquish the hold on her fire arm, but she did lower it so it was no longer going to be a threat. As she felt her feet ache from her shoes, that pain was over powered by the sharp pain that went through her back the straighter she tried to stand. She gritted her teeth and took it, knowing she would probably be sporting some ugly bruises all over her body from the big brute.
She didn't move merely watched the proceedings and tried to work out if anything on her person was broken, she didn't think so. As she watched the silent moment stretch, she felt herself flashing back to several weeks ago with Psycho Pirate...yes her conversation with Roger Hayden had ended somewhat like this.
She had a feeling it wasn't that easy...this couldn't be all of his plan...no that just wouldn't make sense, Tobias was smart and in no way stupid. There was more, things he was leaving out on purpose. She frowned looking around the club, checking to see if anything was out of the ordinary. Perhaps he was going to blow up the building with them still inside or maybe he was going to set it on fire...there were plenty of other options too.
Looking at Allista she slowly approached her, a little weary of the young girl now, she could probably eat her for breakfast without a second though and being that powerless left her feeling cold, as she was coming to realization of just how truly week she really was. She'd have never had a chance, not even if hell had been frozen over ten times.
"Let's go get the girls..."
She said gently, as she gave the other girl a bit more space as she went to move around her, as she stepped off the platform, her feet not really taking the step all that well, and she growled in irritation to herself as she nearly lost her legs under her, but grabbed a hold of a near by table and managed to keep what little dignity she might have left.
Aviary wasn't good at giving well reassurance and it seemed just as well, because she wasn't sure what this girl wanted or who she really was and at this point it was just icing on her cake of stupid decisions this evening.

[style= font-family: verdana; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 445px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12px]There was anger, rage, frustration, and the flickering feeling of failure that seeped through Allista’s body as she watched the four hundred pound brute walk down the spacious aisle and then down the stairs. She watched, her blue eyes locked onto his albino flesh as he slowly disappeared from view, his bald head the only visible part of his body by this point. Her fists clenched, opening and closing rather rightly and she was beginning to breathe rather audibly, her eyes trembling with a massive enigma. She was not used to the idea of letting her enemies walk away, but that is what happened when you had smart enemies- they knew exactly how to avoid the necessary confrontation to put them back into the hell hole they came from. Allista would have to wait, and until she could find Tobias she could strike.
Whatever had happened today would only be a motivator for him. He would get better at hiding, himself and his operations that way Allista would have to work exceptionally hard to find him. It wasn’t for a lack of skill, no that was far from the case – it was merely the amount of work that would have to be put into getting his attention. Tobias was a very busy man, and if she made the mistake of simulating the same kind of meeting again, he might just plan the whole damn place down.
At the very least however, this battle had not been lost. The girls were still going to be saved from whatever hell they were forced through. Some would have to have rehabilitation and possibly surgery done to them, but Allista Cray would more than likely be at the head of funding these girls to better health. It was the least she could do, because she had come too late and was only letting the same man who put them here walk right out that door. At the very least, she could try to minimize Tobias’ operations and ensure that this kind of activity wasn’t large scale – at the very least.
Hearing Aviary’s voice, she turned ever so slightly, watching the young woman remove herself from the booth with little grace. Her eyes turned cold, almost stiff as steel as she narrowed them and focused her concentration on Aviary, just who the hell was she? If she hadn’t interfered, Allista might have had the chance to lock that asshole away. Her teeth grit and just as quickly as she leaped onto Tobias, she lunged forward, attempting to grab Aviary by the loose back of her dress and slam her into a wall. Pressing her forearm against the young woman’s neck and apply enough pressure to ensure she meant business, Allista leaned in close the entirety of her expression hidden by the visor maintained upon her face.
“Who… the hell… are you.”
Each word escaped with a seething hiss as her teeth grit and the young vigilante let her emotions get the better of her.
“You just watched one of the top inmates of Belle Reve walk right out that door… I hope you know that.”
Allista continued, pushing her forearm deeper into her larynx.
“What kind of FBI agent wallows in her own pity in a bar and lets one of the most dangerous criminals get away.”
Her body expression was challenging and in her anger she was prepared to dismantle this woman’s reputation if she didn’t start giving explanations for her interference. [/style]

This was unexpected, not terrible surprising but it was infuriating, even as she felt the pressure the girls arm along her throat, she couldn’t help the fury the filled her body, that just at away until there was nothing left the but the boiling raging darkness. There were no red flames; it was just a darkness, an all-consuming rage. Her hazel eyes darkened with her anger. She found her back pressed against the wall and her loose shirt raised up so the wall dug into her back.
'How dare she, how dare this woman try to act all high and mighty with me, she doesn't know me, she doesn't know what this day means to me!'
She didn’t say anything for a moment, trying to get out was useless and after this fight, she just couldn’t bring herself to care, no she didn’t care at all. She almost wanted her to put a little bit more pressure, just dig her forearm in harder and crush her larynx all together. It was her words, her last few set of words set her anger. She didn’t move, but her eyes shown with such a murderous hatred. Her hand curled tighter around her gun, and it was amazing she didn’t bring the butt of her gun up to try and bash her head in. Instead she did something far less destructive, and rolled her tongue over the roof of her mouth for a moment before she opened her mouth as though she’d try to speak and instead hurled a little ball of saliva at the woman’s face.
Her control on those dark emotions swirling around inside her was adamant. but how long would bottling up all of those go? When would she crack all together, their seemed to be no telling what could happen if she ever fully lost control of all those negative emotions?
In this little body was an anger, a rage that spelled of tremendous loss, no one could hold that sort of emotion and not have had something traumatic happen. The hand holding her weapon was shaking, but it wasn’t in fear, no it was in anger.
”Keep acting like that you and you’ll be no better than Whales” her mouth opened spilling the words out, even as all she wanted to do was hurt this girl, hurt her like she was hurting, like she’d been hurting for years. “Or maybe that’s what you want.” She let the words hang there with a sort of finality. If this girl wanted to trade words they’d trade words. She wasn’t even supposed to be here, she’s the one who wanted her to come alone with those two boys, not that would have never happened. The girl had wanted the in her presence had given her.
"You don't know me, not a f&@king thing!"
The words spilled from her lips as her anger fueled her and she couldn't help the emotions that swirled in her heart. She took a small shaking breath trying to hold back the tears, not that this woman's words brought her, no her words brought back her life seven years ago. She had no idea what she'd lost.
"Let me go!" she hissed out the words, her right hand swing up in fist for the side of her face. She was angry and hurt and she wanted to put some much needed distance from this girl, she needed some space, she needed to be able to breath, to get some real control.

[style= font-family: verdana; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 445px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12px]Her glared threatened to pierce through her very flesh and burn through the essence of her soul. Allista could feel the exchange of body heat rise between the two as tensions were heightened and the same abhorrent stare was shared between them. She could admit that in this point in time she was of course being a little over the top – maybe letting the emotions get the best of her. But could she really be blamed? This man had walked away unscathed, just like when he killed her father and left her for dead. The gloating smile on his only made her press harder against Aviary’s neck, preparing to break it in any instant if the woman did not confess for herself.
Then it came and without much warning. Actually, she should have been able to predict the rather lewd act by the way her tongue rolled and the muscles on her lower jaw flexed. There was a short sputter from her mouth and Allista felt the warm, heavy mixture of her saliva land just on the apple of her left cheek. Allista’s mouth was left agape as she stared – first in absolute shock at the woman and then slowly it turned into disgust. Her eyes rolled, and they began to tremble as she listened to her – almost barely. Whatever words escaped Aviary’s mouth almost went unheard as Allista went temporarily deaf and only saw the glimmering of her teeth and the movements of her mouth as she spat hurtful words.
The mention of her likeness to Tobias brought her hearing back into the frame and the young billionaire could only stare at Aviary in horror as she realized the weight of her words. She? - Like the man who had sought to take everything away from her? The same man who shared no remorse and felt absolutely no shame in what he had done? She was nothing like him and even if she killed this stupid girl here and now; she would NEVER be ANYTHING like him. She shook her head, pushing off Aviary and turning her back on the woman – she was finished here, she didn’t need to be berated by some hapless girl who had just managed to get into the wrong business of things.
Her mind had been corrupted and sullied by the events of the evening. She found herself thinking unlike she normally would and in her rage she was shaking. Almost uncontrollable now, Allista breathed in and out allowing all the bad energy to escape with each breathe and regaining her composure. She had become just a little too emotional this evening and she was the only person to blame for the complete mess up.
So Tobias had escaped with whatever ounce of pride and ego he had left. Allista could track him down in a day’s time and have him back behind bars at her heart’s desire. This time around however, she would have to be a little smarted about her operations – maybe try not to drag people back into this situation. She sighed, turning back to Aviary, her anger long gone and slowly wiping off the woman’s saliva off her cheek. A shiver went up her spine at the reminder of how disgusting the act was, but she quickly overcame it; reminding herself that there were worse things out there. Like the scum who had taken advantage of the young girls below the club’s grounds.
“Sorry.”
That was all she could say. It was more so an issue or pride and the stubbornness that allowed nothing more to escape her lips. Yet even through her ego she could justify her actions in any way, it was Allista who had dragged the bystander to the scene. Allista was the one who had forced her to be drugged and placed into the predicament. This was all – very much in fact – her fault. A shrug of her shoulders showed that she had been defeated and willing to accept the blame. There was of course nothing else left for her to do.
“We should get the girls.”
She muttered, averting her gaze and quickly making way for the basement. The crowd had been oblivious to the events that had transpired. A mixture of the loud beats and heavy drinking a cause for that. She couldn’t blame them for their ignorance and their neglect was well appreciated. At the very least now, Allista could make a difference to many lives instead of just her own. She listened for Aviary’s footsteps, wondering if the wound had been healed and if she was following after her. This was just as much as her responsibility at this point (forced on by Allista of course) and she thought the release her the girls might be a way for them to redeem whatever level of acquaintance she could muster. You didn’t usually walk away from these type of situations without a name or number after all. [/style]

Aviary didn't say anything and merely ran her fingers lightly over her neck. Her hands shaking slightly she took a moment to steady herself. Her hazel eyes watched Alice with a mixture of weariness and surprise that she'd actually let her go and had easily let things go, at least for the moment. Fighting amongst themselves wouldn't get them anywhere and they had those young girls downstairs to worry about. As she followed after her, at a few steps back to give the black haired girl some room as well as allow herself to fully try and process the nights events. Who are you really? We've both been lying to each other this evening. A tricky testament to our own insecurities or perhaps our strengths. She walked through the club and followed after the raven haired girl as she headed for the lower levels that housed the real workings of this club.
Jacquelyn walked down the hallway after Alice. She didn't realize how much it really bothered her, that she didn't know anything about her until they were about half way to where the girls were. She frowned opening her mouth, having an overwhelming need to apologize...she had felt this girl may be able to understand some of her grief...it was a gut feeling.
"Aviary Eves...." she stumbled over her words for a moment in the heavy silence of the hallway. The only noise from the heels of their feet making noise as they walked. "You asked me who I am...and I'd like to know who you are..." she paused her mouth open and searching for the right way to word this as she took a breath and slowly let it out, her face fell a little bit and she looked very young all of a sudden.
"I'm sorry, I was just looking to say something to hurt you. You're right...you aren't like him. You didn't allow your anger to control you to taking that final step over the edge. No many people can walk away from their target and not kill them." she quickened her pace and worked to catch up with her, so they were stride for stride.
This girl was right she'd allowed Tobias Whales to walk out of here without a fight and while getting into this situation wasn't all her fault, she'd gone along with and she was just as much to blame and she was at fault in the situation where she'd allowed Tobias to leave to walk right out without a fight. She was an FBI Agent she was the one tasked with tracking the special cases and the man at the top of every wanted list in the Nation and International, she'd allowed him to leave. She should have killed him, or done something else. There was a lot of options she'd had and yet she hadn't done them. What did that show about her character, her integrity? It showed far too much. "I should have captured him, I left him get away and for that I'm sorry."

[style= font-family: verdana; text-align: justify; padding: 5px; width: 445px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12px]The exchanging of names would be quite customary for Allista – given the proper circumstances of course. This was, for lack of a better term, rather awkward. The situation itself was confusing for her, even after all her years in this line of work. Secret identities were a big deal in the superhero community and Allista was more than aware of the consequences that followed and she was unsure of what was more damaging, the knowledge in the hands of a criminal or in that of a government operative. Decisions, decisions, why was her life so complicated? Biting her lip, she continued down the hallway, glad that the visor was still rested over her eyes to hide the expression on her face. Aviary was being honest, why couldn’t she extend the same courtesy? Well the answer was blatantly obvious and if Aviary really knew why she couldn’t go forward with this kind of relationship – well hopefully she would understand.
Still a tiny string in her heart did pull and the loneliness that had welled up inside Allista all these years was beginning to gnaw at her. Here in the face of resolution she was faced with a perplexing set of feelings. She sighed deeply knowing that the silence had gone off too long and was beginning to feel awkward. As she opened her mouth she was glad to hear the breathe escape from Aviary’s lips and speech escape from her mouth. At least this would stall for some more time while she did some quick rationalization in her own mind.
Allista stiffened at her apology. Not really expecting such a quick change of heart she wondered just what exactly Aviary was trying to get at. Well that kind of logic was really ridiculous and at this rate would just have Allista creating enemies. Aviary had proven her honest, sincerity and integrity to Allista and in the small dialogue she expressed Allista understood the better intentions that lay deep within Aviary’s heart. This was not an enemy or someone to be afraid of, besides if worse came to worse Allista could always just deal with it.
“Allista…. Allista Cray.” She finally spoke, extending her hand very systematically to offer a handshake. She felt kind of silly in the offering of her handshake but at the same time this kind of introductory mannerism was so ingrained in her that it was inevitable. Even if the name didn’t ring a bell in Aviary’s head, that was fine as well in fact it would be better that way. Less of an obstruction to a relationship they would potentially have.
“And it’s alright, people like Tobias… they never get away. You should know that better than anyone else.” Allista said, placing a hand on Aviary’s shoulder, “Besides, while I was bashing his face in, I stuck a tracker down his throat so… we’ve got about three days before that comes out on the receiving end.” Allista added with a wink as they finally arrived before the door that contained the young women who were miles away from home.
She placed her hand on the door knob but then stopped and turned to Aviary realizing the futility of their efforts at this point. There were over a dozen girls in there and without the proper transport vehicle or idea of where these girls were from they couldn’t feasible handle the situation on their own.
“Hey… let’s call the big boys in for this one.” Allista began with a smile as she brandished a cellphone from her pocket, “And let’s get out of here and have a real birthday celebration.” Allista offered, punching in 9-1-1 into the phone and looking to Aviary for a response. [/style]
