Should I Join?
Credit Goes to Justice for All.
So... we've all done it. Gone looking for a site to join, checked it out, pondered over it, lurked in cboxes, warily completed an application, put more effort into it then you thought, got accepted, started threads - only to find out that this so wasn't what you were looking for. Then there's the "trying to back out", or "just disappear" approach, and then you have to search all over again for another site. You try to see if it's a fit before you join. You read the rules and information, check out the staff, and then skim some threads. Yet, you still run into problems deciding if you fit in.
Well, it's an issue for staff too. No one likes to get their hopes up over a new member, then end up with disappointment. Most boards will post information from the staff, trying to give you an idea or a feel for what they are looking for, and quite often the phrase, "No Mary Sues!" is tossed around. The thing is, everyone has a different idea of what that means. So, to try and make your decision on whether or not to join easier, Clash of the Finest has put up some basic information that might help show you what we are looking for, and what we are not. We are completely aware that there are a ton of sites out there, and we want you to find your perfect fit... even if it's not us! Without further ado, here are some things to bear in mind when deciding if you want to sign up or not.
