These battles were always a pleasure for Goodness. They reminded her of Apokolips, of home where the raw and uncensored violence was a normal part of her life. In fact it was a very normal part of everybody's life on Apokolips and Goodness could not think of living any other way. The beauty and art of war was overwhelming for her and she found herself building a great feeling of excitement deep within her chest as she listened to the girls scream and cry for help as their lives dangled before them. There was nothing more serenading and soothing than the cries of despair.
As part of training, weekly battles were set up amongst the girls by Goodness to determine a few choice attributes. Strength, fighter quality, weapon mastery, field experience and team building skills. Who ever proved to be the weakest link was put through more rigorous training and those who excelled, well they went through more challenging training experiences as well. There was no rest for the victors, there was only chances to improve, to become better and to be the greatest fighter.
The most important part of training however was team work. It was after all called the female "furies" not the female fury. And while Goodness would prefer to have one wildcard, she knew that there were greater strength in numbers. The heroes of Earth knew this, so it would be idiotic to ever think otherwise. Yes Crucifire was strong, but she was not strong enough to stand on her own and no amount of training that Goodness could give her could ever grant her that. Following today's results she would be crowned the new leader of the female furies but that title meant nothing because the leader was only as good as her team and if Crucifire did not play well with others then she could very well lose that position just as easily as she had gotten it.
"Does this appease you?"
Goodness only smiled oddly and began to slowly clap her hands together. These battles were always such spectacles and she marveled at her works of art. If there was anyone that rivaled her abilities to create warriors it might just be the Amazonians themselves. As Crucifire returned to starting position Goodness slowly rose from her seat and looked down at the young woman. How she had transformed from the bratty little rich super hero to the obedient and deadly fury. While Goodness was happy with her results she still could not help but miss her own Furies back on Apokolips, in her eyes they would always be her number one team. But here on Earth, she would just have to make due.
"That will do Crucifire. Now show me how well you can operate with a team."
Immediately four girls stepped forward and took defensive positions around Crucifire. While they did so, another five girls stepped on the opposing side of the field, armor clad and battle ready. The girls who had fallen in the first training session either picked themselves up or were dragged off the floor to have their wounds tended to. Nothing that concerned Goodness too much. Standing on the ground with her arms folded behind her back, Goodness eyed the valiant expressions on each girls' face. Oh how they hungered for the first draw of blood. Just the look in their eyes could make any normal person on the battle field a mad man. With her eyes cast on the team leaders of each group Goodness simply nodded her head, a signal to allow the new training session to commence.
