History
Iluthin was born on a far away planet, a peaceful world with advanced technology. In the peak of their golden years, the planet was attacked by Darkseid’s forces. Millions died, many became slaves, and the small child Iluthin became a student of Granny Goodness.
During his training as a warrior, it was found he was quite adept at the art of warfare. He went through accelerated training and gained great reputation. It was at this time that he was accused of stealing weaponry from Darkseid's then-master assassin Kanto-13. Many suspect that Kanto-13 actually planted the weapons fearing that Iluthin might be getting too skilled, and could challenge him for his position. It was decided that he was to be punished, not for the stealing, but for the fact that he was caught. He first faced a gauntlet of his fellow students, which he defeated with ease.
Against the request of Kanto-13, young Iluthin was exiled from Apokolips to Earth. At this time, earth was going through the Renaissance period, and Iluthin entered the culture and thrived in it. There he trained under Italian fencing teachers, and happens to falls in love with a woman named Claudia.
Kanto-13, realizing that Iluthin was a possible threat to him, tracks Iluthin to Earth. At the wedding altar, Kanto-13 attacks Iluthin, but kills Claudia. Iluthin and Kanto-13 battle, and in the end Darkseid's assassin was defeated. Darkseid himself came to Earth and destroyed Kanto-13 for failure, and Iluthin returned to Apokolips as Darkseid's new assassin and new god, and takes the name Kanto.
For the next 500 years, Kanto served faithfully as Darkseid's servant. He performed many duties, from military advisor, field general, personal body guard, trainer to the forces, and assassin.
When Mr. Miracle comes back to Apokolips, Kanto is one of the obstacles he faces. He captures Mr. Miracle, taking him to Granny Goodness. There, Miracle faces a foe called The Lump. It should be noted that of all the foes Mr. Miracle faced, Kanto shared a sort of professional respect with Mr. Miracle. Kanto, at that time, dressed in a quasi-Renaissance fashion, to imply both royal court intrigue, and the artistic pride that he had in his assassin's work.
Kanto’s loyalty to Darkseid earned him special favor with the dark lord, and Kanto requested a small solitude in historical feudal Japan. Kanto was granted this by Darkseid and spent many a 100 years in the past living from through the 13th and 14th century Japan. During his time there, he continued his study of the sword and martial arts, learning from both the Samurai and the Ninja. It was at this time that he developed a fondness for the old Japanese culture, and he has kept this style of dress and appearance to this day.
During Darkseid's attack on the Source, Kanto encounters Artemis of Bana-Mighdall, the one-time Wonder Woman. Although Artemis was stronger and tougher than Kanto, and nearly a match for his speed, Kanto still proved more skilled in combat. He defeated the Amazons greatest warrior.
When New Gods were slaughtered across the galaxy, Kanto was recalled to Apokolips. He now again serves faithfully at Darkseid's side as his personal guard, assassin, and military strategist.

Personality: Kanto is Mr. Self-control, Mr. Ice-water-in-the-veins. He is noble, elegant, honorable, confidant, and smart. He believes in the power of his will and that through sheer force of will, almost anything can be accomplished.

He never allows emotions or the circumstances, no matter how dire, to master him. He tirelessly maintains himself in top condition, and constantly seeks to improve his martial skills. Kanto is terribly cunning, able to outthink as well as outfight his opponents.
One aspect of his professionalism that is rare in a man whose business is killing is that Kanto usually never kills unless it is necessary or unless he's been hired to do so. There has been the occasional exception, where Kanto killed somebody simply because he really wanted to. On most of these occasions, the victim had made the mistake of angering Kanto and provoking him.
On the surface, Kanto is quite introverted, cold and callous, and seems able to feel compassion only toward himself. He will kill anyone should they fall on his hit list. He is able to remain calm, controlled, and emotionally detached even in the tightest situations.
While Kanto is not without charm should the situation call for it (notably to manipulate others in order to get closer to his target), in his natural setting he is quite reserved, and normally speaks only when absolutely necessary.

It resembles a golden tunnel of light and the other end is obscured by bright light. The Hush Tube is used for travel between planets. Kanto can use a Hush Tube to travel between points on the Earth as well.
Weapons: He carries a variety of weapons, but traditional he uses blasters and swords.
Kusar Swords – These blades are made from an indestructible substance and are as thin as an atom, capable of cutting anything, even beings as hard as Superman. Furthermore, the blades can absorb energy blasts, dissipating them into nothing.

- Calculating: Combat is a thinking game, just as life is. Each choice and move you make in combat has the possibility of taking our your opponent, or leaving yourself open for attack, such is life. Kanto understands this perfectly, and because of this he is always thinking ahead. He is always picturing how the 'game' will resolve if he moves one way, envisioning all possible scenarios and picking the action which is most likely to result in the scenario he most wants to see.
- Cunning: Along the side of being calculating, Kanto is also very cunning. He is a threat that would rather be hidden, a creature of fear. The best attack is one that begins before the enemy even knows you’re there. Every one of his verbal assaults of physical attacks is well planned, and he is capable of adjusting them on the fly to make them still more effective.
- Discerning: Kanto is intelligent, and is a master of using logic and reasoning to deduce plots, plans, and strategies. Kanto understands the actions and thoughts of human’s, and he can pick up on subtle shifts in a person's mood and attitude very quickly.
- Enigmatic: What makes Kanto so unnerving to most people is his ability to hide what he is thinking and feeling. He is a mystery to those around him, never quite letting them get a read on him. He has intentionally cloaked himself in mystery to the point that if you ask people who know him of his past, you will get a hundred different answers. This trait doesn’t lead to having many friends, but Kanto isn’t about making friends.

- Superhuman Durability: Kanto is highly resistant to injury. His body can endure attacks from street-level weaponry, such as knives, chains, bats, and small caliber guns. His body has a density equal to a brick wall. He has caught bullets with his hands and withstood energy blasts capable of destroying a car in one blast.
- Superhuman Stamina: Kanto’s muscles generate considerably less fatigue toxins than the muscles of an ordinary human. He is capable of exerting himself at peak capacity for about a day before fatigue begins to affect him.
- Superhuman Speed: Kanto is extremely fast. He easily moves faster than the human-eye and most superhuman eyes. He can break the distance between him and his target inhumanely fast, and is also capable of running over 100mph.
- Superhuman Reflexes and Agility: Kanto’s greatest physical ability is his extraordinary reflexes and speed. This man could jump from a tall building, perform flips and swings and combative attacks, and land like a cat, all without effort. Everyone he has witnessed, including villains like Deathstroke and Cheetah, and heroes such as Wonder Woman, have all appeared almost sluggish compared to him. His body is a well tuned figure in motion. He has an almost preternatural sense of balance and agility. His instincts are honed so that these reactions are not chaotic or off-based, but are appropriate to the situation as both his mind and body act in symphony with one another.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Kanto is capable of healing at much greater speeds than that of ordinary humans. He has proven capable of healing from deep slashes and puncture wounds within a matter of minutes. This ability also gives him a super-immune system and ability to resist poisons, disease, and toxins.

- Assassination: Kanto has been rigorously trained in the art of assassination. He has an extensive knowledge of murder and of the means to accomplish it. He is also skilled in strangulation, throat-slitting, smothering, poisoning, and the use of improvising deadly weapons from objects he finds on his missions (shovels, pool cues, fire pokers, etc.). While he is more than capable of using brute force to mow down a couple dozen armed men, Kanto is also an extremely creative individual, capable of devising cunning and stealthy ways of eliminating his targets without creating a commotion. Notable creative hits include locking a target in a sauna to stimulate a heart condition and cause cardiac arrest, disguising himself as a chef and poisoning a target's meal by improperly preparing his fugu sushi, disguising himself as a doctor and sabotaging a surgical operation on a target, and replacing a prop Mauser C96 handgun with a real one during a break in an opera rehearsal, causing an actor to unknowingly kill the target.
- Body Reading: Kanto can study an opponent’s movement, allowing him to calculate their movements. This ability is in no way perfect, as it is more of a split-second calculation, but it does help him to set up the perfect counter to any attack.
- Combat Tactics: Kanto is a tactical master, taking every advantage offered him and seeking to create more. He'll often do this by taunting his foe into anger and mistakes. Kanto is also a very fast learner. Even if he observes a particular combat maneuver just once or twice, he is able to adapt it to his choice of weapons and duplicate it effectively in battle. He is a consummate warrior, combining his ambidexterity, stealth training, and martial skills to be one of the most dangerous fighters in the galaxy.
- Disguise: Kanto is a master of disguises, often donning the uniforms of dispatched guards or civilians in order to blend in and infiltrate an enemy stronghold without being detected. He may not look exactly like the people of the country his target is in, though he usually looks close enough to not arouse too much suspicion (at least from a distance).
- Firearms: He is skilled in all forms of firearm use, and has nearly perfect aim, limited only by the mechanical inaccuracy inherent in any firearm he uses. This makes him an excellent sniper, as well as a peerless pistol marksman. He is even able to wield two guns at once without any of the usual decrease in accuracy such behavior normally creates. His accuracy and speed is unsurpassed, even in complete darkness, so that he can hit targets on all sides of him, and even behind him. His exceptional calmness and discipline are most useful in combat situations.
- Martial Arts Prowess: Kanto is trained in all manners of classical unarmed combat such as wrestling, brawling, kickboxing, and ancient martial arts. He is nearly peerless in hand-to-hand combat, being easily more skilled than earth's top fighters, including Batman, Lady Shiva, Kirigi, Artemis, and even Wonder Woman. His martial skill even surpasses the likes of Orion. The one man he has never met who surpasses his martial arts skill is Val Armorr. Kanto knows how to apply his knowledge of ancient techniques to the more modern forms of fighting, assimilate it, and use it to improve himself as well as his pure skill in martial arts.
- Military Science: Kanto is one of the greatest military scientists in the universe. Darkseid has stated that there are only two people in the universe that are greater in Military Science than Kanto, that being Steppenwolf (Darkseid’s Chief Military Scientist), and Ares, the God of War. Military science is the study of the technique, psychology, practice and other phenomena which constitute war and armed conflict. It doesn’t matter whether the adversary is an opposing military force, guerrillas or other irregulars, or any adversary, Kanto can develop a plan to win. Kanto has complete mastery over military strategy, tactical operations, techniques of field leadership, security, land navigation, psychological warfare, weapon use and characteristics, tracking, danger recognition, evasion, camouflage, and tracking.
- Rogue Skills: Kanto, being Darkseid’s chief assassin, is a skilled master in a variety of rogue-like skills: Escape Artist, Forgery, Lock picking, Pick Pocketing, Defeating Security Systems, Shadowing, Streetwise, and overall Stealth. There are only a few people in the world who could match him in any of these skills.
- Stealth: He is also highly skilled in subterfuge and stealth, having broken in to areas such as the CIA Headquarters, MI-5, the Yakuza, and more. He is a master escape artist, and seems to appear and disappear out of now where, giving him a mysterious and deadly omnipresence.
- Vehicles: Kanto has shown proficiency in operating a large variety of vehicles on more than one occasion, most often being when he has to extricate himself after all objectives are accomplished. These range from common automobiles and vans, small watercraft such as motorboats, and even aircraft like seaplanes and helicopters.
- Verbal Judo: Kanto is skilled in the art of verbal judo, to include interrogation, intimidation, persuasion, and charm. He knows not only what to say, but how to say it to instill the exact emotion he needs his target to fell. He can charm the ladies, strike fear into his victims, persuade the car salesman to lower his price, or even use the appropriate ‘techniques’ to pull information from an information.
- Weapon Master: Kanto is to weapons as what Val Armorr is to martial arts. With weapons he has no equal; his skill is unparalleled. He knows every weapon-based fighting style in history, but tends to favor the sword. He has mastered Kenjutsu, Iaido, Roman Swordsmanship, Italian Fencing, and many more. He has trained hundreds, including Artemis of the Amazons. His technique focuses more on training his muscles to respond quickly and in perfect harmony, to the call of the mind, and more importantly, to the call of the imagination. He understands that improvisation, not rote responses; separate a warrior from a weapons master.

- Darkseid: Working for lord of Apokolips has its perks, but also its drawbacks. Failure is not an option, and Kanto must watch everything he does while in Darkseid’s presence and ensure he devotes his full attention to any task his lord orders.
- Not Perfect: The Body Reading ability is not perfect, only allowing for calculated guess, and would also be of no use against foreign, or alien type creatures, and those that possess high levels of super-speed.
- Mental Attacks: Kanto has no special defenses against mental attacks, and his willpower would only take him so far against a powerful mental attack.
- Not so Tough: While Kanto is superhumanly durable, he deals with people that can punch or blast through titanium on a daily basis. He can still be overpowered physically and can only take so much punishment from powerful foes.

- Apokoliptian Armor: This armor is made from technology based on Apokolips. When worn, the armor covers everything except Kanto’s face. It protects against blunt and energy attacks, as well as protection from the elements. When not in use, the armor resides in a sub-dimension. Kanto can will the armor to and from the sub-dimension in moments, offering him the ability to change back and forth from his armor into whatever civilian clothing he happens to be wearing at the time.
- Father Box: A sentient, miniaturized, portable supercomputer, although their true nature and origins are unknown. They possess wondrous powers and abilities not understood even by their users.
They have the ability to Sense Danger, Sense Life, nearly every type of Detection power, including Mental Powers such as Clairvoyance. They also have amazing access to know just about anything needed at the time.
Source Conduit: Father Boxes have been seen to access the Energy of the Source for various effects such as:- Gravity Manipulation: Change the gravitational constant of an area.
