Light blue eyes looked up at her the man who had aged years and she had stayed the same age. She remembers when he had been little more than an infant, just a baby. It was still hard to wrap her mind around it sometimes. This all at times felt like a bad dream, something she'd wake up from. She'd wake up in her bed, still with her ceremony around the corner and her parents, her family still alive and her friends chatting excitedly about her up coming ceremony.
"Kal...err I mean Clark, what are we doing out here?"
The question came from slightly parted pink lips as she waved her hand to the vast expanse of the park around them. They stood in an open clearing off a walking path with several plastic and in some cases what look like paper and some wooden sticks, just what were they going to do with these colorful pile of junk she had no idea and could only stand there and wonder if perhaps Kal-El had hit his head a little too hard entering Earth's atmosphere.
One hand moved to her hip and she gazed at her cousin with something a little akin to annoyance, there was far more they could be doing somewhere else rather than in a park were no one needed their assistance at all. She frowned and stood her ground with him, lithe little body tense and ready as she stood there looking non too intimidating in light blue jeans, white and black van tennis shoes and a white tank-top as she enjoyed the rays of the sun on her back.
"We could be doing some good somewhere on this planet, why are we here? No one needs our help. I don't understand..."
She admired after a moment as though the confession took something from her, with her inability to grasp what it was he wanted from her. Just what was it that he was trying to teach her? She was taking her new duties seriously, or was it something else was she being punished for the building in Dubai? She'd apologized twenty times for that already! Just what did he want from her. She reframed from stomping her foot like she really wanted to right this moment.

Clark did his best to let Kara live her own life. It was not his place to attempt to impose on her. She was looking to figure out and blaze her own trail for living her on Earth on that was something that he could respect. She deserved the chance to try and find her own path. That being said he understood that every now and then it was a good idea for the pair to try and check in so he can try and offer her some of the great wisdom that he had been offered growing up. He did not want Kara to grow up and be him when he was older but he did want her to be the best possible person she could be and Clark was rather sure a large portion of that sort of growth came from learning to appreciate all aspects of his life.
Kara in a pose that Clark had come to discover was part of being a teenager was curious as to why it was that he had brought her down to a local park. Clark understood that while Kara might not have a strong sense of just it was passed for fun on Earth was he was sure that she would be able to pick up on the concept quick enough. For his part Clark simply smiled while the sun reflected off the glasses he wore on his face. Clark himself was dressed rather comfortably in a pair of slacks and a polo shirt that was not too form fitting, in truth he had been working today prior to meeting Kara and did not feel the need to change got what he had planned for the pair today.
“Come now Kara if all we do is work we wind up like Bruce, I have to imagine you don’t want to sit in a Cave all day like him..” Clark responded doing his best express what was going on in a fashion that was easy for the young woman to understand. “There is more to life than just helping people.Kara you have to learn to understand what it is that you are saving. It’s time for you to learn a little something about the simple joys of life” Clark pursed his lips for a moment as he did his best to search for the right words to express this moment. “Look around you; you don’t need to be able to fly to enjoy yourself;” Clark continued producing a small set of plastic rods and bit of cloth and string. “Are the right tools.” Clark concluded offering the materials to construct a kite to his youthful cousin with what he hoped was a disarming smile on his face.

Kara couldn’t quite erase the look of shock that had her standing there in front of him with lips slight open and her hand fell from her hip to hang limply at her side. This was not at all what she’d anticipated or for that matter wanted to be doing. She was one of the strongest people on the planet…granted she still had quite a bit to learn and get her own handle on and she couldn’t go toe to toe with Kal just yet, but she had been working on that little tid-bit for instances just like this when she wanted to sock him, but held herself back.
Simply joys in life really? Her brow quirked upwards toward her hair line and she was sure that she was just oozing positive fuzzy moments right now. Joys in life…ok she could do that. Joys like beating the tar out of someone bigger than her, as they had underestimated her. That was fun that was joyful to her. It gave her somewhat of an outlet for the anger she always felt just under her skin, like she couldn’t get rid of it. She took a deep breath and held it, her blue eyes had been locked on his face went skyward and she huffed her breath out in whoosh of air as she slowly returned her attention to his. “Is this necessary? We could totally just spar or something…no need to fly a kite, it looks boring,” she said hoping she didn’t quite have that whinny tone to her voice that she’d heard some Earthlings use and she hoped she wasn’t picking up.
Supergirl could do little more than take the materials from her cousin and look at them in little more than confusion as she glanced around her wonder if she could make a run for it and not have to this, but maybe, just maybe Kal-El was right and this could be more fun or relaxing, whatever emotion he was hoping to get out of her, then she’d originally thought. She studied the materials in her hand and sat down in the grass the materials carefully being laid out in front of her as she studied them and began to hesitantly attempt to put the kite together. As she lined the sticks up the way they were supposed to be in the point of a triangle and in a few moments she had the kite put together. She looked up at Clark and shrugged up at him as she stood up and carefully picked up the kite from the ground. “Now what?” she asked brushing back a few wayward strands of golden blonde behind her ear.
