There are just some random ideas that could be used to make things interesting at some point.
*Alien invasion of an OC race, beings like (ex: Hawkgirl, but without the removable wings) or some other race
*Citizens/heroes/villains randomly disappearing at any point in time, while they are eating, mid conversation that sort of thing?
*A battle championship with those with super powers/ and no powers for the enjoyment of someone?

What if instead of an Invasion Earth gets marked for Destruction? So like a giant robot force comes to break the planet down for parts. The Heroes find a way to stop it but then have to figure out who has listed Earth for destruction and try to fund a way to change their mind or stop them

Invasion/Earth's near destruction plots are great... in thought, but on paper it's a whole other story. This is primarily because it's rather difficult to involve every single available character on the board - especially if most of the characters are not of the same affiliations. Additionally, the Invasion/Earth's near destruction plot has been done many times and I think it's difficult for a lot of people - new and old to really jump into the flow of things if there is no designated narrator/story board pusher to really lead people about.
Not saying it's a bad idea, but for now it's a bit too complicated to really take off.
What really needs to be created are segregated plots that involve separate teams and separate elements to a bigger story that CAN or CANNOT tie into one another. Characters in the Teen Titans don't necessarily need to know/fight the same fights as those in the Justice League. It's a huge universe, there is a lot that could go on.
That said, I have played with a lot of ideas in my head and tried to pull some really fancy stuff out so I'm just going to start plot vomiting in 3... 2... 1....
We are required to give an explanation of why the last plot has not followed through. In the case of the celliobyte I have decided on the following:
The mission to Xolnar failed. Both the League and Society were unable to obtain the pluridium, as a consequence to their attempt the planet went nuclear and the league barely had enough time to evacuate the population. Fortunately, they were able to save most of the inhabitants in a 24 hour melt down period, but this effectively left the Xolnarians homeless and experiencing a great loss. This also meant that the required material to create the celliobyte was no longer available thus effectively ending the Arms Race. The race to create the celliobyte came to a stalemate and both parties have returned back to some normalcy. For the time being things have been quiet, too quiet.
What happens now?
The universe is a bit fearful of the Justice League and of Earth due to the destruction it brought to one single planet. Tensions may not be felt by Earth's inhabitants as they pre-ocuppy themselves with their own problems, but the entire universe is watching the blue planet and its heroes.
The United Governments of Earth still retain the information about the Celliobyte and on a very secret level are trying to find a way to construct their own weapon to fight against the heroes. There is some tension between the governments and the heroes due to the Society's meddling and the bad PR they managed to generate over the term of the Arms Race. In an attempt to place better control over the heroes, the American government is considering taxing the league and other super hero teams and holding them responsible for public damage.
In light of the loss of moral in the heroic forces, criminals and villains alike are taking advantage of the populace and rising from the grimy streets to take control. This can lead to a gang war/clash of gangs that overwhelm the heroes as they learn that this has been a war in the making that has only been boiling underneath a closed lid for some time. It also doesn't help that many politicians are involved in corrupt activities, and it is the same politicians that are at the head of enforcing strict laws and codes against the heroes.
The Society needs to either regroup or lick its wounds. Regardless of what they do, there are villains and criminals alike who acknowledge the growing heroic teams as a threat and will do anything in their power to discredit/rid of them. This type of plot needs to be done by individuals who play villains and who need to talk among one another.
In the dark shadows, a cult is rising that is following the Resurrection of some demon (trying to stay away from Trigon, but if it works best... then you know). Heroes need to infiltrate this cult and try to stop things from getting out of hand. Things like human sacrifice and murder by the cult could be a few of the mishaps that have been caused. A hero could somehow be manipulated into joining the cult, requiring the comrades to save them. The cult could succeed in Resurrection and their demon lord rises - [insert battle scene here]. Good guys win, of course.
Some heroes go investigate the distress beacon of crew members that have been lost at sea. They find themselves on an island in the Dragon's Triangle where a strange mystical force is preventing them from leaving. Heroes must figure out what's going on and finally leave.
and... uh that's what I have been able to think up that is somewhat coherent. I'll add more perhaps tomorrow... because alas... I must rest.

X's Kryptonians Plot "Hi guys - was just thinking that in the current climate of low post-rates (which suits me down to the ground) I'm wondering if we should come up with Krypton-centric plot that'll set us at odds with each other?"
I think that is a good idea, not sure how it could happen the being at odds, it sounds like it may be related to a difference of opinion or perhaps a misunderstanding that blows out of proportion?
What do you think? -Kara
As for the other plot ideas by Damian and Doctor Cyber I think those ideas have good potiental. I'm not really fond of the Demon idea, but it could work. The cult idea and the Dragon Triangle is different and could result in some pretty interesting situations.

What do you think? -Kara As for the other plot ideas by Damian and Doctor Cyber I think those ideas have good potiental. I'm not really fond of the Demon idea, but it could work. The cult idea and the Dragon Triangle is different and could result in some pretty interesting situations. I think that in our cases, each character has a different world view and each one thinks that they're right (ultimately, Superman's right... cos he's Superman). Xara thinks that their role is to be all superior, talk in an English accent and stop short of saying "kneel" and referring to herself in the third-person all the time. Kon-El is really like the "Last Son" from Reign of the Supermen (as I type, so is Xara, but she's not as violent) I think. He's very powerful but really goes to town. I think that Kara would fit somewhere between Superman and Xara's views and I think both would try get her onside. Xara feels (I've not written this yet) that the Kryptonians should form a Science Council to decide on what policies they're going to undertake and how best to educate the terrans. Clearly, if we go with Doc Cy's "humans acting all suspicious" this'll just be confirmation to Xara that strong leadership needs to be shown and that the Kryptonians should distance themselves from - and elevate themselves above - "lesser" heroes. (because Xara never won "Kryptonopolis's Most Popular Student" award). I'm sure that Kal-El won't entirely agree with this Science Council thing (then again... he might). Or we might just decide that Xara and/or Kon-El are a menace to society and have a massive fight - albeit that Xara's just had a massive fight with Superman *lol*. That's literally just pulled out of my... the air. I just think that if we're all here, we may as well seize the day. Open to extrapolations on this and also totally different ideas - you guys'll probably have better ones than me anyway!

I think There is some solid ideas here. Maybe other Heroes agree with them and decide to join up early for a better spot in the new world order? We could find ourselves having a real clash of ideals and superpowers.

If we tie this into Doc C's idea:
From Xara's perspective, this'll just be proof that people need hand-holding.
I also think that this sort of scene would be great for Kon-El to demonstrate a ... lack of restraint? Big riot led by middleweight villians (Scarecrow, Dr Psycho league) - innocent people caught in the middle... it's ripe for everyone wearing an "S" shield to show up and demonstrate their different methods of taking care of the situation.
The whole "some people just want to watch the world burn" could be employed. I'm reminded of Superman/Batman Public Enemies where Grodd (or the Ultra-Humanite - I can't remember which one) had mind-controlled Solomon Grundy and few others into fighting Superman/Batman.
Maybe we could riff on that.
Maybe we could riff on the Government soldiers thing as well? Maybe the likes of Captain Atom, Major Asshole (sorry Force) and other Government types would be involved... maybe Kal-El and friends are seen as a threat?
Do we need to take this conversation to a different thread? I don't want to de-rail the group wide plot with this (although its part of the group-wide plot if that makes any sense)
