(Alright, so I needed another FC and noticed Zoom, except I hardly know anything about Zoom. I took an hour or so to read up on him using a site Cyber gave me as well as a few others I found, and found that I would enjoy playing him...but, I don't know if I can. So, please critique, tell me what's wrong, what I should do to be more IC, and whatnot...)
Current Characters: Killer Croc
Character Attempting: Hunter Zolomon - Zoom
My speed has always rivaled The Flash, the fastest Flash. The others? They are nothing more then slugs to me, and yet they continue to challenge my superiority. Why? What drives them? What drives him? Hunter frowned, his stilled form shimmering in and out of focus like a bright shadow, his eyes alight with a curious red flame. He had defeated them before, only to be locked away in a pocket of horror within the past. He had made them suffer. But it wasn't good enough, they still didn't view the world as he did. Perhaps if he had succeeded in killing Linda, Wally would understand. Except Flash wasn't his only target anymore. He would make them all suffer, every man and woman that dared call themselves a hero. One day, I'll make him see the way I do. I'll make them all see the way I do. That was his vow, but until it came true, he would just have to make them all suffer more, more then he had suffered.
Within an instant he was moving, the towering city of Keystone slowing around him as he moved with long strides, sprinting through the city with perfect clarity. He moved with time, not the speed force, his sight was not impaired, his hearing was clear as an elephants. The people around him hardly managed to register that someone had just passed, until they staggered back in response to a sudden gust of wind. For now, Hunter had no set destination, but he did have a goal. A goal only the most ruthless of criminals would have in their heads. His eyes searched the crowd, ripe for the picking, and a grim smile creased his facial features.
The most promising target was a young boy, perhaps six or seven, his hand clasped in that of his mother's. There was a source for dismay. He would thrust them upon a situation of life and death and force whatever savior turned up to choose. Child or parent? To save the boy, he would be lost without his mother, he might blame the hero that failed to save her, might even grow to be a vicious villain one day. But the same could be said for the mother. She would expect the hero to choose her son, any hero would, but what if the hero didn't? What if he or she chose her? The press would hate you, the family would hate you, you'd be a hero still but a hero scarred, and that was just what Zoom wanted.
He flung himself between them, snatching the boy in his right hand and the woman in his left, slinging them over his shoulder with hardly a thought. To those around them, it would seem as if they had dissapeared, suddenly and with only a blur to explain their absense. The boy gazed around with wide green pupils, as the woman shouted and fought, but to no avail. They belonged to him now, and whether they lived or died depended entirely on the choice of whatever hero might show up to try desperatly to save them both, only to find that there was only one choice to make and the decision was final.
For a moment, Zoom considered making his way up the closest skyscraper, but considered against it. He didn't plan on pushing them off, he planned on simply snapping the neck of whoever wasn't chosen. The skyscraper would only add more drama, but Hunter wasn't looking for amusment. He only wanted satisfaction, and he would find that on the face of whoever showed up to find there was only one way out from the corner they had been shoved into. Zoom set his course for the river so he could quickly dispose of the body and make a run for it. It only took seconds to reach a more quite part on the shore.
Even as he stood still his body seemed to move, and he dropped the two hostages on the ground with a frown. There was no need to bound them in any way, they couldn't flee from him. No one could, not even Flash. The mother took one look at the serious expression on his cruel face, however much obscurred it might be, and then a glance at her son had her begging for his life in exchange for her own. He had expected that, and let her beg without a word. He would be killing one of them for a gain of the city itself, not out of some sick pleasure. If the heros realized just how ruthless he was, then they would learn just how ruthless they would have to be themselves in order to protect Earth and it's people. No city was safe, and he wanted them to know that.
There was only one way to save them both. Kill him. Of course, though the effort would please him, it would be futile. No one could catch him, no one except Wally West, and even he had pushed himself to do so. Perhaps Flash could run faster then him, but not without physical injury. Zoom could push himself much farther without worry of that, he didn't rely on the speed force, he relied on time, not even friction had an effect on him. Of course, it was very possible he could become lost in time, but Zoom was yet to experiance this on his own account.
His crimson gaze strayed to the boy, who had regained his feet and inched a bit away, and it was then Hunter realized the mother had been whispering for him to run. His mind had processed it before he had even realized it, but now that he did, he found it didn't matter. Let the boy try to run. He'd hardly reach an inch before Zoom would catch him. Surely his mother was aware of that? It was clear upon his very constume! The bolt that slashed across his chest was usually enough to inform everyone of his speed, atleast those famillier with the Flash. Speaking of which, he's not usually so slow to confront me.
Zoom looked up in an effort to see some sign that his nemisis had come to the rescue. It would have been the Flash of all people to have spotted him and set off in pursuit, really quick pursuit. The idea that he hadn't shown up now gave Zoom the thought that he hadn't seen the brazen act, or that he just wasn't around. He felt a slight flicker of dissapointment. He wanted everyone to see as he did, but for some reason, it was the Flash he wanted to understand him most. If Wally wasn't around, he'd have to do something to catch the League's attention, something slow, unfortunetly. Zoom scowled at the thought, but also felt slight superiority towards the others. He was so fast, they could hardly process the crimes quick enough to follow!
