LOCATION: Titans Tower TIME: 9:45 a.m. CHARACTERS INVOLVED: Koriand'r, Superboy MISSION BREIFING: Koriand'r and Superboy engage in a training session that starts off innocently enough until things start getting a little heated. [style=font-family: arial narrow; color: #ff3300; font-size: 50px; float: left; margin-right: 5px; font-weight: 100!important;]S he stroked her long, lithe fingers through her cascading auburn hair that when caught in the silent seemed to brim with fire. The weather of August was still fiery and unrelenting in its heat during the day, but when the sun settled the cool air would remind Koriand'r that the cooler seasons were coming. It was not something she enjoyed much like the other members who were native this planet. The changing of seasons brought about these strange but harmonious holidays that were supposed to simulate warmth through togetherness but Koriand'r didn't think they could ever replicate the glorious heat of the sun.
The Tamaranian princess stood at the edge of the ocean rocks, her amethyst armor capturing the rays of sunlight and refracting with a royal sheen. What was more impressive was the luminous glow that seemed to radiate off her as the sun's rays were absorbed by her fulvous flesh and its power was graciously distributed throughout her body. The calm ocean slapped against the solid stone that guarded the island, and every now and then the waves would come down so hard a drop or two of water would find their way onto her.
In the distance stood the city of San Francisco undergoing its normal routines and seemingly not in any danger that was not well beyond the local authorities' hands. A welcome change of pace to her normal day-to-day activities, but even in a heart beat she was willing to go put her life on the line to ensure the safety and the freedom of others. It had become her life goal, her ultimate sacrifice in life and perhaps the only thing she could ever see herself becoming. Her life of royalty had long been stricken from her, and with the power she possessed Koriand'r was sure that there was no better use of it than to protect those from experiencing the same plights she had.
There were many that share her same ideals on this young and ironically primitive planet. These people were quite common, often referred to as heroes and usually worked in groups. Very much like she, and her own - the Titans. Coming out of a semi-retirement that lasted for about five years, Koriand'r felt a certain level of revitalization in knowing that she was back in this kind of business - back with friends - back with family.
The Titans, they only group she had ever considered so close and dear to her heart, had over the years changed in terms of membership and rankings. The original, core group - while remaining the same seemed to have taken their own leaves individually to focus on more personal manners. It was strange to be in a complex with Dick, Garfield, Victor and Raven - but at the same time Koriand'r had the comfort of the younger members whose brashness and hard-heads were a welcome change to the usual crowd she was used to. They were warriors at heart despite their younger age and Koriand'r could appreciate their efforts. Noble warriors were always necessary.
As such, these warriors and their lack of experience in the real world dynamics of fighting and save the day, needed training. And as the only available Titan who had the proper amount of experience and valor, Koriand'r had taken upon herself the important task of training the newer members. Some were highly disappointing - but with promise; others were very impressive and were a satisfactory challenge to the Tamaranian princess.
Today's challenge, rather training session would be with the unnerving clone of the greatest superhero in the world. Superboy was a diamond in the rough in terms of fighting style. He had the potential to pick up so many skills but seemed to be more comfortable in defaulting to his strength level and using it as an upper hand. A great tactic against the everyday street criminal and lowly crook - but no way would he be able to use the same strategy against world class criminals who spend their entire lives developing and learning how to evade supers such as he. Strength was a great asset, but something that Koriand'r believed should be used to emphasize professionally honed skills. It was then that the playing field would change.
Her origin from a strong and proud race of warriors had given her the proper upbringing to possessing the heart and skill of a warrior. Kon-El was a test subject who had been force fed the necessary knowledge for martial skills, but lacked the required experience for mastery. Koriand'r was sure however, she could polish the young man up and put him on a level where he would be comfortable without heavily relying on his strength. Or at least on a level where he could give Dick a good sparring match. Koriand'r always default to Dick's martial skill as her guide, he did after all survive his entire heroic career on skill... and skill alone.
Koriand'r turned from the ocean and to the makeshift training ground of sand and gravel. It was about 52 by 64 feet in size and stood upon a mechanized arena that was capable of producing an obstacle course complete with ropes, barbed wires, projectile disks and just about anything that Victor and his sadistic mind could conjure. For today, Koriand'r would only focus on basic close, combative techniques and work on Superboy's foot work and hand-to-hand techniques. Perhaps she considered, they would get some ground work into the session.
Of course, all this and more would require Superboy to actually... show up.

The august weather was beautiful, with the heat of the day being fiery and unrelenting. The sun was shining brightly, and Conner loved it. He was standing on the roof of the tower, and the sun was bathing him in its solar energy. It replenished his strength, pushing his powers to their maximum height. If he had been a full kryptonian, this would have been enough to keep him going. He'd have been self sufficient if he'd had the full genetics of a Kryptonian, and he'd have only needed to eat, drink, sleep and rest because of his own choice, not because he needed to. But, as a half Kryptonian, he didn't have that privilege. But it wasn't so bad. The solar rays did help him a bit, refuelling him at times. It actually had a weird effect on his skin, making it sparkle slightly. It was like his entire body was being bathed in the sunbeams, causing his skin to sparkle, which contrasted with his black shirt. Even when off duty, he would wear his red S-shielded t-shirts, because he was most comfortable in them.
He'd have to go down in a few minutes though. If he didn't, he'd risk being late. Today was one of those training days, where he would be trained by an older, more veteran member of the Titans. Despite the fact he had taken Jujitsu, Taekwando, and Judo classes, he still relied mostly on brawling and his own sheer strength for his fighting. It was something he'd been using for the last eight years, ever since he had been freed from Cadmus and from the life that had awaited him. A life of being controlled by the government, being used as their personal Superman....As their way to control the world, to shape it into their own vision. But his combat style, while good enough for fighting inexperienced fighters, wouldn't hold up towards seasoned combat veterans, against those with years of martial arts training and formal training. And that was why Koriand'r, the tamaranian princess who was a seasoned member of the Titans, would be teaching him combat today.
Conner hoped to be able to learn what she taught him. His memory was nearly eidetic, so he'd easily remember what she taught him. The tricky thing would be putting it into practice, into learning the moves and utilizing them outside of the theory. Rubbing his face, he decided it was time to go down. And since he would probably cause a small seismic shift if he jumped off of the top of the tower, the next best thing was to speed down the stairs of the tower and out the door. Walking through the door on the roof, he took a deep breathe, and then sped down the stairs. This would barely build up a sweat, and he'd be down within a few seconds. Reaching the door, he slowed down almost instantaneously, and opened it. Walking out, he made his way to the makeshift training ground.
Seeing Koriand'r, Conner couldn't help but check her out. She was quite beautiful, and if he were to be honest, he had a small crush on her. Not just for her beauty, but her prowess in combat, and her personality. Walking over to her, he smiled and said “Kon-El, also known as Superboy, reporting for training ma'am. And its always nice to train with such a stunning person.” Giving her a small smile, he was glad he would be training with her.

[style=font-family: arial narrow; color: #ff3300; font-size: 50px; float: left; margin-right: 5px; font-weight: 100!important;]H er ears perked at the sound of the air becoming disrupted as the boy of steel rushed to her location moving at the super speeds that had been bestowed upon him. Koriand'r's green eyes lit with happiness as she lay the emerald jewels upon him and smiled ever so sweetly in response to his arrival. Almost a little tardy and cutting it quite close, but she could catch him some slack.
Her eyes scanned the young hybrid Kryptonian's body. The rippling of his muscles as he came to a stop interested the young Kryptonian as she studied his half alien body and wondered which part she was more curious about. Humans, she had been around them for most of her life and their customs were still strange and foreign to her - Kryptonians were a rare breed. The most significant being the great Superman and Koriand'r had not had the privilege of working beside him. Young Konner would have to be the closest she could get to another alien species, even though he only did appear to offer a midway point in that.
Positing her body and placing one hand upon her hip, Koriand'r welcomed Superboy.
"It's a pleasure to finally be able to train you Superboy." Koriand'r began. It was always good to exchange pleasantries she had learned in her time on this planet. "As for stunning, an interesting choice of words." Her purple lips pressed tightly together into a coy smile as she cocked her head to the side and winked at Konner rather playfully. English may not have been her first language, but Koriand'r had become quite adept at reading emotions and body language - besides her first kiss with Dick had given her a vast doorway into one of the planet's languages - she was not completely lost.
That aside, her playfulness would have to subside for now as the session was now reaching past its starting point. At this rate, the hour long training would be reduced to a mere few minutes and Koriand'r just couldn't be happy with that. Her eyes returned to a certain level of seriousness as she folded her arms behind her back and looked down at Konner her green eye radiating with its own luminescence.
"I understand that you are formally trained in some arts." Koriand'r began, hovering in the air and beginning to encircle Superboy as she studied him, "But I have also seen your style and recognize your preference for you strength over your skill." She smiled slightly as he looked to her, "It's not necessarily a bad thing, strength is always a great advantage - you will have more than most - but to truly overcome your foes requires skill... skill helps amplifies your abilities."
Her purple boots landed back onto the ground, a very slight thump as she controlled her descent. Koriand'r walked past Superboy, taking her position to the center of the field and standing with her legs hip distance apart and hands still clasped behind her back.
"We will learn some formal techniques today... I will try to learn more from you in this session to help better your style." Koriand'r began, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she spoke, "No meta-abilities... just our bodies." Koriand'r continued, smiling very slightly at the last comment. She positioned her body, readying herself into a basic fighter's stance as she stared down Konner.
"Please Superboy, engage in combat with me, and please do not hold back."
Another smile as the Tamaranian warrior motioned for Superboy to come forward. [/style]

Koriand'rs green eyes were something that Conner had noticed when he first walked out here and saw her. He had also noticed how they were quite green, almost luminous, and also quite beautiful. But he was getting waylaid. He couldn't just focus on her beauty, or the small crush he had on her. For the next hour, probably a few minutes less now that he had arrived a minute or two late, he'd keep the flirting to a minimum, and focus intensely on the combat training. That didn't stop his eyes roaming over her body. Tamaranians were not a species that you would run into all the time. It was rare as meeting a Kryptonian that wasn't Superman. Koriand'r seemed to have a well developed physique, but he was unsure if this was a trait other tamaranians shared.
“Its an honour to be training with a veteran Titan such as yourself. And well, it may have been an interesting choice of words, but it were the only ones to spring to mind.” The smile and wink that he received caused his cheeks to darken with a blush, because he had not expected her to start flirting back this quick. It meant that she was comfortable with the flirting. But they would still need to train soon, so it didn't matter that they were flirting, as long as they did let up soon. Besides, in the heat of battle, even in a training exercise, everything else was thought about. Only the moment of battle or training mattered. And now, her eyes were seriousness. I know that look.....I've had that look. It's a matter of being serious. This is training seriousness.
Kori walked past him, and took a position on the centre of the field. Walking to across from her, Conner spread his feet evenly apart. He wasn't surrpsied she knew he had some formal martial arts training, because it had been shown in his fighting style several times. But, he was happy that she would be teaching him. “Well, I know I rely on my strength a good bit. Its just, ever since I developed my Kryptonian powers, I began to use it all time. I did develop my combat skills, but not to a great degree. This training will help me. So thank you for this Koriand'r.” Smiling at her, got ready.
Nodding, Conner took the combat stance he would always take. His legs, slightly apart, with one behind the other. His arms were also raised in front of him, with his hands balled up into fists. The innuendo that Kori had just given caused him to blush again. “Okay. I'll show you what I can do.” Leaping towards Koriand'r, he unleashed an attack that he would usually use. He would unleash a barrage of fists, using his speed and strength. But he was using his speed and strength at a lesser degree.
