It wasn’t as though it didn’t hurt, the smaller wounds were nothing compared to being ripped open, his blood running down his legs. His blood it smelled, he’d take the smell of copper of the thick red substance that smelled of the highly combustible gasoline, he supposed the one thing he should be pleased with was the fact that the blood itself wasn’t going to catch on fire. A small dilemma, he wasn’t worried about that, he was worried about the way his smaller wounds had stopped bleeding but his stomach…it had been ripped open, he could feel his organs against his waist and he could see them. His body shuddered, his hands curling against his chains. He exhaled feeling the heat lick across his covered cheeks. He wanted to burn this guy to death; he wanted him to leave him alone. He was a titian for Christ sake, not a monster…at least not underneath it all. His throat burned he could feel the flames of his fire breath climbing up his throat with an intensity that he wasn’t used too, it burned but there was nowhere for it to go. The want to vomit was second as he opened his mouth and the flames came rushing out the sides of the mask that was covering his mouth and nose making it impossible for him to do what he wanted.
His breathing came labored and he watched his gold eyes dimming slightly as the pain ate at him. He wondered if they were on their way, coming to help him.
Fingers curling, he jerked against his chains, feeling his body arch off the wall he was held against, the chains around his neck choked him and heaved feeling his smaller intestine dip against his waist. He was going to be sick.
I think...I'm gonna be sick
He thought, looking in the eyes of the man that called him a monster. He was kinda of right. The man approached him intent on digging the dagger he had with him in his heart.
A scary thought, as the dagger went into his chest he screamed, feeling the point pierce his heart.
”Arghhhhhh!”
Eddie screamed fire coming from his mouth spraying across his bed, thankfully catching nothing on fire and dispersing quickly.
His hands covered his face, fingers pressing into his eyes as he pulled his knees to his chest, he was in just a pair of shorts, his tail curling along one leg as he breathed slowly.
”It was just a dream...that never happened, they came, your friends came, they'll always come.”
His eyes glowed in the darkness of his room, he knew that it had to be the demons playing with him, trying to make him doubt his friends, a fun game for them.
Eyes sliding to the clock, it was 4:55 in the morning. He felt it was a good a time as any to get up. He walked out of his room and nearly collided with Garfield.
He leapt back, his skin flaring a shade brighter in the darkened hall. He could have seriously hurt him.
”Dude Gar, you startled me...”
Garfield didn't grin, in fact he looked concerned, Edward found himself scratching the back of his neck nervously under Beast Boy's gaze.
”You had another nightmare, you want to talk about it?”
Beast Boy had always tried to make him feel welcomed, and he went out of his way a lot of the time; to have a conversation, even if it was a short, 'how ya doin'?'
Eddie shook his head, his tail flicking back and forth as he regarded BB. His golden gaze not quite looking him in the eyes. He shrugged looking a little lost.
”Maybe a little later...Say you want to help me make breakfast?”
Gar's eyes brightened and he grinned at him showing his teeth. ”Sure, man let's get started.”

Screams could mean one of many things; an attack, someone being attacked, a sparring match, an accidental startle or scare of someone scaring another person or just a simple nightmare. And it was because of those screams that Garfield jolted awake, not even half asleep with the sudden wake up call and was up out of his bed and on his feet in an instant, padding silently from his room, in nothing more than a pair of shorts and a sleeveless vest. His lime green skin looked darker in the darkened hallways, as the male walked quietly down the hall, heading in the direction where the source of the scream had originated from. He already knew who ti could have come from. Kid Devil. If it had been anyone else he would have known because he knew their voices and if the scream had come from Raven he would have felt it through their connection. And that would have woken him up much sooner than being woken up by a scream, like he had been.
The green skinned shapeshifter paused outside of Eddie’s door. Through the door he couldn’t hear much but that would soon change, as his ears shifted into a bat’s. He could hear Eddie’s rapid breathing and how he talked to himself, calmed himself down. ”It was just a dream...that never happened, they came, your friends came, they'll always come.” Gar felt a little bad about eavesdropping on his teammate and friend(at least he considered Eddie his friend), so his ears shifted back to their normal pointed ears and he stepped away from the door just so that it wouldn’t hit him in the face and so that he wouldn’t be caught eavesdropping. He was none too surprised when Eddie came out of the room a few minutes later and had almost collided with him, not that that would have happened since Gar would have reacted in time to prevent that from happening.
He watched as his friend’s skin flared a brighter red from the shock or the startle Garfield didn’t know and right now that wasn’t as important. "Dude Gar, you startled me…" Garfield didn’t grin like he usually did, his lips were pulled into a concerned frown, his emerald green eyes stared at his devilish looking friend. ”You had another nightmare, you want to talk about it?” he asked wanting to help his friend in any way he could, even if it was just being a listener or someone to vent to.
”Maybe a little later… Say you want to help me make breakfast?” Edward said looking a little lost at first but then gained confidence when he spoke next. Gar wasn’t going to lie he was a little disappointed that his offer had been declined, or well not really declined per say just put off. Like didn’t matter. Like it wasn’t important. But he also knew that it would take time to get Eddie to open up and tell him and he wasn’t about to push him into anything he didn’t want to do. However at Eddie’s offer his eyes brightened and he grinned showing his teeth hiding his disappointment as quickly as it came. “Sure man, lets get started.”

Eddie grinned a little bit, his lips pulling back over his teeth as he moved towards the elevator that would take them from the sleeping area into the kitchen. He didn’t give it much thought as he waited for Gar to follow after him. He flicked his tail and led the way into the kitchen. He didn’t say much as he started pulling out varies mixing bowls and plugged up a large plug in pan that would allow him to make more pancakes eight at a time rather than one in one of those small pans. He was still a little jumpy, but it was wearing off as he started getting out the ingredients and other things he’d need to make pancakes for the team. He knew they’d be hungry and up soon once the smells started woofing up the vents. He glanced over at Gar and didn’t say much of anything, this wasn’t the first time Gar had helped him make breakfast, he usually let him cook, and they’d talk while he set the table or got other things out that the others might want instead of pancakes. He thought of what he could say to start up a conversation, something that would help him keep it away from his own demons. “How are you and Raven doing, with Red Robin being leader and Nightwing going solo?” he asked curious to see how the other titans were handling the change of leadership. It didn’t really affect him and he was alright with it, but it still made things a little weird at times. He didn’t quite fit in with either team now that things had changed. Kid’s back was turned as he started to flip the pancakes once he was sure they were done. He made some plains once, but he was also doing a few different things, making some that were blueberry, some that were chocolate chip as well. He cast a look at Gar over his shoulder, as the first batch of pancakes were put on a plate to his left. He flipped one pancake over on the pan and waited his tail swishing back and forth as he worked. His fingers carefully holding the spatula, as his golden eyes glowed in the dim light, they hadn’t turned on much of the lights just the light over the stove as the sun would soon be peeking through the cover of the windows giving them more light then they would need. Terra woke up and lay there for a while. She played over the events of yesterday over her head. Clearly she had a lot of redeeming to do before the Titans forgave her. She hadn’t even seen Red Robin yet, to discuss things. Terra really did want to rejoin the Titans. She realised she done a great wrong, and wanted to redeem herself somehow whilst being in the team. Starfire, Action Barbie, Gar, Raven and a few others probably wanted her dead. The blonde Markovian was kind of surprised she hadn’t been killed during the night. She sighed once more and went under the covers for warmth. She gazed at her costume and gave a snort of disgust. A change in costume was due, she thought. If she was ever to redeem herself, maybe a costume change was needed, and maybe she could let her hair grow.
Deciding that it was time to get out of bed, the blonde former Titan pulled the duvet back and slipped into the shower, with her costume sprawled on the floor nearby. The water was so lovely. Having been away from her healer, she had missed warm water after being on the road for so long. She took her time in the shower, savouring the hot water. As she showered, she hummed a little tune to herself. For someone who was basically a prisoner, Terra was unusually happy – maybe it was because even though she was a prisoner, she had a home, kind of. She wasn’t going to mess things up this time. Once done in the shower, Terra decided to meditate. Her instructor had instructed her to meditate to release all the negative energy within herself. She always felt much more relaxed and happier after she meditated.
Her stomach growled, meaning it was time to eat. She was hungry but wasn’t allowed in the Tower. Terra emitted a sound of annoyance. Would anyone come down to give her food? Would she end up starving to death? Ugh, she was being ridiculous. Of course they wouldn’t let her starve…would they? Maybe she deserved to be starved a bit. She had told herself to endure whatever the Titans threw at her, in order to be admitted back into the teams of youth. She went back on her bed.
The door handle shook, which made the blonde Markovian sit up and look to see who it was.

Garfield’s grin didn’t falter as the green skinned man followed after the devil-looking teenager along the hallway, into the elevator and finally into the kitchen. Gar stayed back for a moment just to shift his eyes into a cat’s, allowing him better night vision, at least until the sun rose a bit more, since Eddie hadn’t bothered with during on any other lights except for the light overlooking the oven. Not that Gar had a problem with it, they didn’t want anyone else to wake up, at least not until they got a bit ahead with breakfast. To shift his eyes wasn’t the only reason he had hung back, he wanted to watch Edward a bit more without him making it obvious that he was in fact staring. He could tell his friend was jumpy, if his jerky movements were anything to go by. The green eyed man shook his head and ran a hand through his disheveled green hair before he followed Eddie’s example and walked further into the kitchen, heading toward the pantry where the cereal was. He grabbed a few boxes, leaving the pantry door open for a moment because he was sure he would need to go back into it and grab something else. He set the cereal boxes on the kitchen counter, knowing that there might be a few members of the team who didn’t want pancakes for breakfast. He glanced back at the pantry and after a few seconds of thought he walked back to the pantry and grabbed a loaf of bread and bag of bagels, plain, blueberry and cinnamon raison ones, before he closed the pantry door. He deposited the bread loaf and bagels onto the counter, only to open another cabinet and take out the toaster. He had just finished plugging in the toaster when Eddie’s question rang in his ears. He shrugged his shoulders as he moved toward the fridge and grabbed butter, strawberry and grape jam and cream cheese; the blueberry, strawberry and plain flavors. He placed the assortment of items on the kitchen counter before he answered Eddie. “I’ll let Raven answer that for herself. For me; I’m fine with it. Red Robin’s no Nightwing, then again no one can be as good as Nightwing.” the shapeshifter said honestly. Gar was fine with the change in leadership roles. It would take time to get used to being ordered around someone younger than him, but he was honestly fine with it. Red Robin was a capable leader in his own right. He was no Nightwing but that was fine. No one could be Nightwing and really if Red Robin had tried to act or tried to be like Nightwing then Changeling would have had a problem with it. “I’m okay with it.” he said with a small helpless shrug over his shoulders. What else could he say? That he wasn’t fine with it? That was he was worried about his friend? Sure he could of but would it change anything? No. It wouldn’t. And he saw no reason to worry anyone else about it. Nightwing was most likely fine anyway. He shook his head, trying to get his emotions reined in before they, he disturbed Raven, even if it was a hopeless gesture. Because she probably already felt his distress and worry. Changeling wanted to question the other about the nightmare he had but he kept his mouth shut, he hoped that Eddie would tell him later about his nightmare. He opened a drawer and grabbed forks and knives, closing the drawer before he moved to yet another cabinet and took out a stack of plates and moved to set up the kitchen table with a plate in front of each chair along with silverware. He shook his head, walking up to the same cabinet that he had gotten the plates from he grabbed a couple of glasses, setting some on the counter for his second trip and closed the cabinet before he placed the glasses down near the plates that were spaced out on the kitchen table. It was on his second trip to get the glasses he had left did he speak. He couldn’t help asking; one simple question. “How are you holding up?” he asked, looking over at Eddie, watching as his red-skinned friend flipped a pancake. He finished setting out the glasses and went back to the fridge getting out the jugs of milk and orange juice as he let the fridge door swing closed, waiting for Kid Devil’s answer. Tag: Someone

Post by Raven on Oct 12, 2012 17:06:52 GMT -5
The time she spent now was well within herself. She spent much time just being locked in that moment of losing it. It was no longer a self-doubt however, she was meditating on it. she spent so much time rebuilding the crumbled walls around her emotions and now that it was done, she was meditating. For those that knew Raven, Raven's form of sleep was meditation or plain sleep. Both did the same thing for her, though one could simply call meditation for Raven "Concentrated Sleep". She was also recovering from physical stress and the physical damage. Not from Cassandra, those wounds healed the moment they occurred. But when she reverted, the heat of stabilizing herself overwhelmed her and caused her to collapse. This was a healing of her overexertion and of the damage that being that hot caused. But more importantly, it was concentrated rest. Recovering from lost sleep, recovering from that took it's toll on her and this was emergency recovery. She then felt things. Fear and confusion. She opened her eyes for a moment and then closed them, feeling that it wasn't a threat, just a minor thing. And then, she felt another emotion: annoyance. "Really?"Raven muttered to herself. She needed to rest and yet, the annoyance and hunger sent clear signals. Very clear ones. Very clear emotions. And then, Raven took a moment to process this. And then, happiness and then, relaxation. Raven could tell when someone was meditating near her, meditation created a particular type of emotional frequency that was hard to not notice. Much like Joy or Rage, Clarity and relaxation were very strong emotions to pick up on. And then, Raven wondered what she wanted to do. She sighed as she shook her head and walked to the door. You didn't wake me and yes I should be sleeping. I do need rest. I'm going to talk to her. Tell Eddie to not cook breakfast with fire breath or hand-pressed again. He always burns it. All I want is some yogurts and orange juice please. I'm sending a part of myself to grab her something. It was a simple relay. She couldn't perform long, exact communication telepathically with Gar though, the strong empathic connection under the words was more than enough to communicate the meaning of a short message like that as she went into her dresser. She closed her eyes for a moment as she grabbed a mirror. As she opened her eyes, she could see an image of herself grabbing four pancakes with some butter and syrup. In reality, Raven's Soul Self was grabbing these items in clear vision of Eddie and Gar, though Gar would be the only one that noticed the minor details in it's appearance to know it wasn't her. That and she just told him. The food then appeared in her hand as she put the mirror back into the dresser as she pulled out her cloak. Normally she wore regular clothes in the Tower however, she didn't want to be that open with Terra yet and in a moment, she was gone. She teleported in front of Terra's room. Raven placed her hand on door handle and gave it a slight shake, before fully opening the door. Most would worry about someone being naked, especially in a girl's room. However, Raven was an empath so if this feeling occurred she'd know if someone wasn't decent anyway. She opened the door and looked inward, pancakes in hand along with the condiments for them. "Breakfast?"In most situations like this, one would expect someone to be angry at them. And Raven was in fact still mad at Terra. The clear emotion on her face was guilt however. She subjected Terra to something she should never have even remotely deserved. And yet, she was going to be subject to it more, though not to that intensity. Part of the situation was her giving in to having others feelings shuttled into her. She knew what she was doing and was happy with it. Unlike many of the others, even with the damage Terra did to Gar and everyone else, Raven was the one best suited to think clearly on the situation. Or she was now anyway, the point being what Raven was thinking about. Her story was legit, it had to be since she supposedly died. Her actions justified this and Raven was more than understanding of wanting to grow past one's past, directly or otherwise. She pitied the position Tara put herself in. And Raven's soft actions should she wasn't being aggressive at all. She had done more than enough of the aggressive end of it. Now, she was here as an attempt to just be neutral about it. Emphasis on "Attempt". "We have a lot to talk about. And you have every reason to hate me or fear me. What happened....was uncalled for. On all of our parts, though I will be the only one to admit it right now. Agenda aside or not, you deserve a chance to grow beyond your past. But you can't do it ignorantly either, which is the reason for the deal. The main and important reason anyway. It should be a two way situation however so, talk to me. Since I'm probably the only person here that is letting my guard down around you."Raven said in a matter of fact sort of way as she closed the door behind her. Taking the food, utensils and condiments and placing them on a desk as she levitated in the air in a meditative stance next to said desk, looking towards Terra. Her eyes showing a remorse, one that was possibly reflective but definitely aimed inward. Tag:Kid Devil/Open

Eddie listened to him having hoped to allow time for him to continue what he needed to do. His back was turned as he continued to flip the pancakes when they would be done a nice golden brown color stared up at him. He may not be able to do a lot, not feel as though he was one of them, but he could at least, at least he could make a breakfast for them, as sort of peace offering, but it never seemed to work that way. He was glad to hear some of the older members were handling the change better. Perhaps he was allowing Robin to intimate him too much, maybe it was the mask?
He flicked his tail in thought and wondered just what Garfield was trying to get at by that question. He pushed it aside and answered with regard to what he'd asked him about Red Robin's leadership.
"I'm fine with the change, it'll just take some getting used too, to know how Robin thinks, with Nightwing it was a little easier, he'd been more open, more of the easier one to talk with, Robin was in his own right a good leader, but he lacked the personable quality that Nightwing seemed to have. It didn't mean that either one was better then the other it simply meant that one had better people skills."
Eddie said with a shrug of his shoulders, he didn't mean it as an insult, no it was just merely something he'd noticed, he'd been new, not necessarily friends with either of the two, so it was easier for him to see objectively on the two leaders and not be biased because he was friends with them. No he'd never gotten that close to them.
He wasn't one to talk, his people skills were lacking, and he didn't necessarily say a lot of things that he should, he hadn't told his team how he truly got his powers, or what would happen in the next few years. It just never seemed as though it was the right time to say anything. He'd tell them and perhaps the chips would fall as they may, maybe was better off waiting until just a few hours before he turned 20 and saying it then, it was something he was up to considering, a cowards way out, or perhaps saving face? He didn't know, but their was nothing they could do to stop it. Neron owned him.
"I think they both have good ideas, but they have their own personalities and each of them has their own ideas of leadership and they seem to work for them and the team. Nightwing has gone solo and we all have to grow up sometime. This is Robin's time to grow into his leadership roles and we need to help him and show that we respect him as a leader, we all need to communicate better with him."
Kid said as he turned his head hearing footsteps someone else had woken up. He took a breath trying to tell who it was by scent alone and it was curling with his own and Gar's he couldn't quite tell who it was, but he had several guesses as to who it could be.

Terra couldn’t believe her eyes – it was Raven who had come; the woman who had gone demon mode, because of her. She wasn’t sure what she was meant to feel but if she was being truthful, she did fear her a little. The demonspawn had brought breakfast to the traitor. She had sat up straight away and nodded. Her stomach growled in agreement. She quietly thanked the Titan but focussed on the words that Raven was saying for the time being. This was important. The blonde girl understood why she’d been tortured but she was also surprised that Raven was attempting to give her the benefit of the doubt. That was….unbelievable yet she could see the guilt in Raven’s eyes.
She decided to talk as she ate. "Well, when I crumbled the H.I.V.E building, I managed to survive. I wandered around for a bit and then blacked out. I woke up in a healer’s place, who cleansed me mind, body and spirit. If I even try to turn evil or work with Slade again, I’ll feel physically repulsed. You can look inside me if you want, I don’t mind. I stayed with the healer for five years, meditating and honing my powers. She helped me get rid of the evil inside me. I’m grateful to her for that. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” she said in between mouthfuls. She was hungry – she had wolfed the first two pancakes within seconds. They were superb. “I then went to the Grand Canyon and broke down, feeling so very guilty about what I’d done to all of you. I’ll do that every now and then. When I could shed no more tears, I resolved to come back here and beg for your forgiveness, not just you, the others too and to do whatever it took to earn your trust again, even feeling the pain I caused. So, now you know.”
Terra wasn’t sure if Raven would believe her – why should she? However, she had said her story was legit, so who knew? She just waited to hear what Raven would say while she finished her breakfast.
